About a year ago, I created the season 9 and 10 Stocky Bois carsets, which were iRacing rosters converted to NNC07. It is now season 18, and I've decided to bring it back, but with a twist!
I made a carset on iRacing based on the season 10 roster on this carset, but making them look like real life gen 4 cars. I thought it would be cool to revisit the idea, but put a more modern set on the COT mod! So that's what I'm planning to do.
The carset Currently has 97 paint schemes planned. As of writing this, 11 have been completed. As of now, it's only myself and @Mk28 painting for this, but more help may come from different people.
This is a very long-term project, and could take multiple months to complete, so I don't have any kind of date planned. I'll post renders of the cars along with the driver name, team, and a small background when they're done!

If you are interested in keeping up with the progress of the carset, the google sheet tracking the sets progress can be found here.

Enjoy the WIPs! :)

Todd Marcus | #1 | Lightning Supersport

Entering year 9 of his career, the defending cup series champion is spending his second year at Lightning Supersport, hoping to repeat his success.
His champion caliber teammates, Erick Griffith, and 9x champion Mark Yates will try to beat him out, though, but can they out-talent the 25 year old from Sacramento?

Long time team supporter, Jegs, will continue their partnership with the team, extending their sponsorship streak to a record-tying 18 years.

Erick Griffith | #3 | Lightning Supersport

Erick is one of Todd's best friends, but he's a fierce competitor on the track. He is one of only two drivers with two championships. The other one being his teammate, Mark Yates with 2 in Stockies and 7 in Indy.
This year, the former back-to-back champ wants to take a record-setting third championship. His efforts will be funded by a new partner, Circle K, who will sponsor the majority of the season.

Mark Yates | #0 | Lightning Supersport

The undispited goat of the Bois Canon returns to his stomping grounds, beginning his retirement tour with a bang with two title-contending seasons. At age 44, many wonder if Mark still has what it takes to win it all. The Home Depot will return to sponsor the old man of the grid in his twilight years. Mark still wants to go out with a bang, only time will tell if he can get it done, or if father time will finally catch up to him.

Perla Flores | #01 | Lightning Supersport

Perla Flores, a recent Shorty Bois (second-tier series) graduate, makes the big leap into Stocky Bois competition. Despite being a relatively raw prospect, Lightning Supersport has taken a chance on her, and the 18 year old from Mexico will begin her professional racing career driving the best equipment in the field.
Many will wonder what her part-time season will look like. Many journalists suggest Flores to run as many laps as possible, with a goal of hanging around the top 10. This is a chance that very few get, so it's important that Perla impresses the big boss, Jim Williamson.

Don Champion | #28 | Turn1 Motorsports

It has been a turbulent few years for both Don Champion and Turn1 Motorsports. Champion spent his first two years in the Roush Racing Enterprises part time car, but the big boss was not impressed, and let him go at least season's end. On the flip side, Mitchell Marc's Turn1 Motorsports has been in rapid decline since the loss of their superstar, Todd Marcus. Entering year 2 of their rebuild, Marc is taking a chance on Don to be the spark that the team desperately needs.
On the sponsorship side, Monster Energy will return to the team, partnering with the team for now over a decade.

Zane Miller | #82 | Turn1 Motorsports

To put it lightly, Zane Miller had an incredible debut part time stint at Turn1. When Marcus left the team, Miller was the shoe-in to replace the esteemed #82 car.
Entering into his sophomore season, Miller hopes to improve from a mediocre rookie campaign. "Greatness takes time", Miller told a reporter, "But I have the crew around me to make this career special".
Road Ranger will return for a second year to sponsor Miller after Target's departure from the team.

Daniel Jackson | #79 | Meyer-Ward Motorsports

To say that Daniel Jackson was a hot prospect would be an understatement. During his time at Williams Family Racing, he turned many heads, taking a car that was not supposed to be in the top 15 into the top 5. His uncanny ability to get into accident, however, shook many top team owners away. That didn't stop one Meyer-Ward Racing, a legendary Shorty Bois team waiting for their shot at greatness, to take a chance on Jackson.

The pressure is on for both teams. Meyer-Ward's hype is starting to wear off, and they need to start contending now, or risk the team's stout second-tier legacy being drained. For Jackson, he needs to prove the doubters wrong, and he needs to replicate his performances at Williams, else he might not have a racing career for long.

After previous sponsorship engagements were cut off, CarQuest has partnered to sponsor roughly half of Meyer-Ward's campaign.

Susanne Warren | #57 | GM Racing

The Shorty Bois champion two years ago makes her anticipated full-time debut in the big leagues! After impressing last season with GM Racing, she replaces veteran Aaron McElrath.
With GM being a one-car team, the pressure is on her to immediately perform, as there are no teammates to lean on, and the team's paycheck could vary depending on where her and her alone finish in the points. Despite the high pressure situation, many expect Warren to perform to those expectations, and possibly even exceed them!

Anca Matei | #75 | GM Racing

Anca Matei has worked at Raine-Sky Racing for the past handful of years now, so it was surprising to her that she got the call that she was being let go. Despite having a lot of potential, ownership didn't think that she had performed well enough to merit a full-time seat at their team. The driver from Romania was close to not having a ride at all for season 18 when GM Racing called, and gave her the lifeline she desperately needed.
This season, she will be driving the part-time GM Racing car for Napa Auto Parts. While it isn't the full-time gig she was hoping for, a ride (especially a competitive one) is something to be thankful for.

Sophia Newton | #72 | Chuck Leslie Racing

Sophia Newton has gone through the dirt to get to her rookie season. After spending almost a half decade in part time cars with TMR (now Raine-Sky), and now Chuck Leslie, she's going to get the chance she's always dreamed of: become a full time Stocky Bois driver like her hero, Jessica Munroe.
That being said, the situation at Chuck Leslie isn't pretty. With a shoestring budget, the car isn't very good, and a run exceeding the top 30 is a good day. That being said, a full time campaign is better than nothing. The sky is the limit for Sophia Newton, and the better she does in that #72, the more heads could be turned by team owners higher up on the grid.

Arby's is expected to fund the beginning of the season, but no sponsorship has come afloat past their races.

Markus Adkins | #8 | Raine-Sky Racing

Markus Adkins has been with Raine-Sky since the day they opened. Back when they were TMR Racing, they were a small, shoestring organization owned by Tommy and Malinda Raine. Their hopes was to build their small program up with Adkins, a young prospect at the times, into something that thier son Buddy Raine could inherit.
Fast forward five years, and Blue Sky Racing, owned by the Tescar family, saw a massive amount of potential in both the team and Adkins, and decided to purchase a stake in the team.
Now three years from being rebranded to Raine-Sky Racing, Markus Adkins is hoping to do what he always does: overperform.

He's seen his race cars built from a shed, and now they're being built in a billion dollar facility, prime for him to take his maiden victory for himself.

Erica McPherson | #2 | Raine-Sky Racing

Erica McPherson has had a red hot start to her racing career. In her rookie season with Meyer-Ward Racing, she immediately turned heads by racing well above where her equipment was expected. Next season, when she went to Adrenaline, she improved further, taking the team to heights they haven't seen in nearly a decade. During the off season, she was a hot commodity, but her unusual driving style led to many teamowners writing her off as a potential free agent.
When Kail Tescar Jr. saw that McPherson was on the block, he immediately called Tommy Raine to see if he was interested after a deal with Tina Howard fell through. With nothing else to lose, Tommy said "mama didn't raise no pussy", and the job application to Erica was sent. "The Raine-Sky Racing #2 doesn't have the best reputation" Malinda Raine said after the signing. "Despite the #2 giving us our only checkered flag, it's usually a step behind the #8. I believe Erica can close that gap, however".
To say that expectations are high for McPherson is an understatement. Now that she has good equipment under her, it's important to prove that she has what it takes to compete in stock car racing's highest level.

All of these are FANTASTIC

You are really good at painting, and there is not a single miss amongst the pack so far!

I think my favorites are the yellow Jegs car and the Road Ranger entry. But I can't deny I love a good looking unsponsored car ;)

Sara Arias | #5 | Raine-Sky Racing

The Shorty Bois prodigy has finally come to the big leagues! Arias will be spending her second year as a part timer for Raine-Sky Racing. The Raine's absolutely love her and her driving style, and funded her racing career since day 1. When she graduated by finishing top 5 in the points, she replaced Sophia Newton, and is a part of Raine-Sky's robust development program.
Since it's her second year, it's important that she shows growth so she gives herself the best shot to either replace Adkins or McPherson, or enter a new third car for the team!

Dean Edwards | #9 | Raine-Sky Racing

To call Dean Edwards a raw prospect is something of an understatement. Graduating Shorty Bois at the young age of 16, The Raine's saw Dean Edwards as a long-term project. This is his second year in the part time car, and there are currently no plans on giving him the leap to full time racing until he can mature as a race car driver.
Despite his young age, the kid has shown a lot of promise, scoring an incredible top 5 finish at Kentucky last year. While he has a lot to learn, he could be a threat on any given weekend given the circumstances are just right!

Niko Reinhard | #17 | Isaak Schuster Motorsports

It didn't seem like it at first, but the match between Niko Reinhard and Isaac Schuster Motorsports is one made in heaven. The German driver initially burst onto the scene after winning a Shorty Bois championship. After a remarkable rookie season at Williams, scoring them their only two race victories, he was the hottest commodity on the block. That's when the only German team, Isaac Schuster Motorsports, took him up, and they've never looked back.
While it started off rocky, the pairing has been one of the most successful in modern day. With seven wins to Niko's name, and five with the team, the German duo look to yet again compete for a championship. They've lost the development race to Lightning Supersport, so a title bid will not come easy. If there's anyone to do it, though, it's "The Ice Man".

Johnathan Rogers | #11 | Isaak Schuster Motorsports

To say that the pressure is on Jonathan Rogers to perform is a massive understatement. The former champion has had a very lackluster few seasons, and his underperformances are costing the team. The 15x winner has had an abundance of success back when the car was numbered 16, but this multi-season lull has dragged him from feared to many in the garage wondering what happened to the season 11 champ.

That being said, it's not all bad news. One of the largest sponsorship deals in Stockies history was signed a few months before the season. Adidas replaces long time sponsor 3M, filling the sponsorship gap, and then some. Adidas is ready to go all in on both the team and driver, but the self-proclaimed "Memelord of the Milennia" is in a prove-it season of the ages. Will he be able to bounce back? Only time will tell.
