Did NASCAR mess up?

At NewH Sunday, Did NASCAR mess up(goof) by not throwing the yellow soon enough? and did it cost JGR a win with either Busch or Truex? even though Bell almost won it.

And the the pit road error cost Hamlin the win?

They definitely screwed up.. The guy who officially calls the caution's needs to heed his corner officials. Was reported that before the race went green the turn 1 official told the booth the track was wet. The reply, "One to go at the line".. I've listened to the officials channel a lot and the corner officials are more suggestions than anything. The corner officials need the ability to throw cautions imo. The few seconds it takes to tell someone in the booth and them to "decide" if they want to throw a yellow could be the difference, especially for something like weather..

Not sure it cost JGR a win. Fords were bad fast. Who knows.

Hamlin's was one of those deals that happens once in a lifetime. Lug nut off the LR bounces along the car and lodges between the new LF tire/wheel and rotor. Crazy..

Did they bring rain tyres? If not, then yes.
I've seen sports cars on an oval in the rain. It's not an insurmountable engineering question.

unfortunately they don't use rain tires on ovals... in NASCAR that is.. Could be interesting though.

Once again I think They(NASCAR) messed up.
