Back with more Cup2000 cars from Y2K. First is an update I maade to Jeff Gordon's car, adding black outlines to the rainbow
View attachment 83011

Next up is Terry Labonte's #5 Kelloggs Chevy. Now this car was tedious, not difficult, just tedious. It took me 9 hours to get this done, most of them involving scratch making the mascots(Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam, and Snap/Crackle/Pop) from scratch using reference images. Include one total restart after a GIMP crashs and I'm finally glad this thing is done.

And finally a easy number swap inspired by Buddy Bakers 1993 Talladega DNQ.

In my opinion, the 2000 season might have had the greatest paint schemes, in all of NASCAR history. So many different colors, and each car was so unique
Indeed!

Meanwhile, here are 2 cars, one real and one fictional.

First off is Morgan Shepherd's unsponsored #80 that he DNQ'd with at Atlanta. I could only find a rear quarter shot partially obstructed by garage buildings so some creative liberties were taken here.
80 Morgan Shepherd Blank.png

And next is a #58 Leukemia Society of America Chevy based on Jeff Purvis's 1995 Atlanta car that was run as an "insurance policy" for Jeff Gordon. I modified some things to bring it in line with the rest of the 2000 HMS cars.

I'm here with a handful of Bobby Labonte's that I recently cooked up.

First is his primary scheme from the start of the season

Then his primary from around race 10 onwards with Circuit City on the hood
18 Bobby Labonte Interstate B.png

Next is his red spoiler version from Michigan
18 Bobby Labonte Interstate C.png

MBNA was the primary sponsor at one of the Pocono races

and Circut City was primary in the No Bull 5 event at Richmond

Really, really rare pic. Yes our # was supposed to be 46.
@JeffGordonWeb pretty wild how things happen.

- Ray Evernham (@RayEvernham), Twitter, 7th Jan 2015

So now you know.

Jeff Gordon was going to be #46 if it weren't for that film.

I just realized something ironic. Jimmie's number is just the answer for doubling Jeff's number (24 x 2 = 48). If Jeff would've been 46 and they still decided the number the same way, then Jimmie's number would've been 92, which was his Xfinity number at the time he was signed by Hendrick.

Cool, good job.... I got all these cars already covered on my 2000 set.
If you want to join us (me and Majestic) and help us with some to-do schemes, let me know.
and then we can avoid duplicity cars.
I'm more so doing these as a personal challenge to see if I can do it. I always have a hard time using other peoples work for whatever reason, maybe it is pride or something else stupid. Besides commitment to painting tends to be spotty at best, so I prefer to go at my own pace.

Once again a period of burnout, and some private side projects have made this place quiet. BUT I return with a personal ride for the ZRW Monday Modifieds Series!

I never thought I'd ever paint a modified, much less enjoy doing so. But this is probably my favorite personal scheme I have ever made.

Well, I've been doing a lot of painting, but not a lot of showing. So here is a showcase of some 2007 Replicas I have been working on. Compared to my last few attempts, I'm focusing on delivering high quality paints, including painted driver suits, as well as pitcrews courtesy of Team SBR (and myself when pit crews are unavailable)

First up is Kasey Kahne's Dodge Dealers primary, based off of the first Atlanta race.
9-Kasey-Kahne-Dodge-Dealers.png

Next up is Elliott Sadler's Dodge Dealers primary, also from Atlanta
19-Elliott-Sadler-Dodge-Dealers.png

I also did Elliott Sadler's UAW Daimler-Chrysler 400 scheme from Las Vegas
19-Elliott-Sadler-UAW-Daimler-Chrysler.png

Now getting to the Bill Davis Toyota's, We lead with Dave Blaney's Caterpillar primary based on Las Vegas
22-Dave-Blaney-Caterpillar.png

Mike Skinner DNQ'd for the Daytona 500 with the sponsorless #23. This is the car as of qualifying, as the Duel car had extra red on the hood.
23-Mike-Skinner-Qualifying.png

Finally Jeremy Mayfield's 360 OTC Toyota from the Daytona 500(This car had MANY variants that I'll get to later)

Great looking cars! Your commitment to quality really shows. Awesome job!
I love the year 2007, and decided if I am going to attempt it for the umpteenth time I will do it properly. I've learned a lot of tricks over the past 5-6 years of painting, and this is a passion project of mine, so I don't mind going the extra yards.

Where do you get your 2007 contigs? They look nice. Also, why do you not post your schemes?

I don't post them for a variety of reasons, mainly because I make plans for grandiose projects, burnout and forget to be truthful :coldsweat:

Also here are the contigs I use for 2007, in 2048x2048 resolution.
