So I changed a couple mods to cts, Rally mod, ad6.7. Why do they feel different, aren't they supposed to be the same? Does the car dimensions have something to do with it? Or is it all in my mind? Asking the experts.
Both with the same setup, rally mod feels quick to turn, light and nimble. AD67 feels like I gotta wait midturn and exit for the rear to hook up. No assists (abs, traction control) etc. I can definitely feel the difference. AD67 was originally pta, and it doesn't feel like the f1 mod. Rally mod was originally gns, but feels so much better with the cts physics.
The AD67 physics are behaving like I would expect it to going from pta to cts. You're dealing with a longer wheelbase and more horsepower. Rally mod might feel better because again you're dealing with a longer wheelbase, therefore it slows down to something you are able to handle.
The way NR2003 works, the models don't effect the car's handling, that is 100% based on what physics you are using. Wheel base, COG and all that are in the physics. The proof for that is in @Mystical's almighty cube mod. However, because you changed the physics for the mod, the cars will behave differently as they are going to behave the way that the creators meant the car to behave when using that physics, which was their best approximation to early 2000s NASCAR trucks.
IF you load in CWS15, at say, Bristol, and you run 20 laps on a fixed setup. Then you go and run the rally mod in your CTS version with the exact same settings and setup at the exact same track, the car will feel exactly the same as the truck as far as your wheel inputs and overall handling. Your lap times should be more or less exactly the same.
The only difference is visual. And if, (I have never used the rally mod and can't personally compare it with the CWS15 directly) there is a model "scale/sizing" difference then your visual reaction on the track will look different and make your mind think it is different. So a visually smaller scaled vehicle will look quicker and snappier than a bigger scaled vehicle despite the game viewing them as exactly the same
