I've gotten some more UV shenanigans figured out, and we have our first test scheme, plus the first possible fantasy driver for the release.

This got real stupid real fast as I was showing my progress on the EFR Discord, but having an actual scheme and stickers really helped with tweaking the UVs.

I suppose these cars will need a way to travel. These tires are scratch-made, and are the first parts I've taken proper measurements for, though just the tire/rim diameter and tire width were measured, with the rest being eyeballed so far.

I'm also hoping to take the ICR route and make the tires completely paintable on the templates.

IMO wheels (tire & rim) can be an afterthought with some mods, so it's great your giving it attention during the build.

Not meaning for this to sound like a request, but being able to paint the rear rim has allowed great sponsor usage like Red Bull etc

You have more guts than me taking this on. Very cool indeed. Can I make a suggestion/request? One thing I struggle with on sooo many of the mods out there is that the rear view mirror is huge. Takes up so much of the visibility. Not saying you have to do it any certain way, just take some other screen sizes into consideration when doing that part. Can't wait to see your progress come together!

"Guts" is probably a good way to put it considering I'm jumping in and literally learning as I go (I don't even have 3DS Max 8 set up yet, which I'm aware is something I should have done in advance). But I really appreciate the positive response so far.

The mirror, cockpit, and other phases like that are pretty far off, and I honestly don't plan on giving those much attention unless I'm able to pick up on those more easily than I think I will. I'll see what I can do.

If anyone has suggestions or requests, I'm not going to bite your heads off and complain about it killing the community for making them, and I urge anyone else to not do so on my behalf. Please bring them if you have them.

Here's what I have at this point.

Superspeedway composite body with all the bells and whistles.

A look at the chassis, which is completely subject to change. The driver model I made sucks and I'm probably not using it.

The superspeedway steel body, which the WIP texture for the composite body is currently mapped to.

1631732202132.png

I may or may not go for a somewhat modeled underside.

1631732288792.png

The short track steel body.

I do have Max 8 up and running now, but there's still a ton of UV mapping and maybe remodeling that I need to do. If anyone with modding experience is willing to take a look at my Blender files and give me some pointers, I'll absolutely toss them over.

I....... LOVE IT!

That gen 4 Super Speedway car is the stuff of my dreams! The generic bodies are likely what will make me use this mod as my main when it comes out, as it can be used for basically everything from 2003-now with the right decals/shading applied.

Oh for how long the community has been waiting for SS Gen4's. You have my 100% approval. Go get 'em tiger!

Also maybe new FARC Lowe-Dollar series carshapes?

I'm particularly interested in the Gen 4 Short Track and Superspeedway bodies for this mod. I think a lot can be done with those two bodies alone. These look excellent thus far and I can't wait to see these with numbers and manufacturer markings on them.
