Can't Get Reflap to Work

  • You DO NOT need an account in order to download the content that we host....ONLY make an account if you plan to be an ACTIVE member.
  • After a lot of thought and conversations within the community, we’re happy to announce that Stunod Racing will not be shutting down. The incredible support we’ve seen from all of you has played a huge role in this decision, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who values and contributes to what makes this community so special.

We’ve been exploring ways to manage the costs of keeping Stunod Racing up and running, as the current expenses felt unsustainable. We considered moving conversations to Discord or creating a standalone site for file hosting, but those options didn’t really fit what most of the community wants or the experience we aim to provide.

Here’s the plan moving forward: Stunod Racing will remain open, but we’ll be making some changes to how files are hosted. There will be a few upfront costs during this transition, but these updates will help reduce our expenses over time and make things more manageable in the long run. We’ve been working with a few members and programmers to figure out the best solutions, and while there are still some details to iron out, we’re confident we’re heading in the right direction.

Thank you for sticking with us and being patient as we work through these changes. With your support, we’ll ensure Stunod Racing continues to be a place for creativity, collaboration, and connection in the racing community.

Stay tuned—we’ll share more updates soon!

I've been trying to use reflap to record new LP files for my Phakisa Freeway project, but whenever I save a new file, the AI decide to drive wherever they want when exiting the pits. I've tried recording new files for pit0 and minpit0 so far, but both times they've caused this (attached).

If I save a new LP and then check it again in reflap, the line it shows for pit0 is up against the outside wall, nowhere near where I actually drove.

Any insight on what I'm doing wrong or just help in general would be appreciated. I really just want to get this project done at this point.

1) I'm not sure what your picture is showing. Cars driving in the pit boxes?
You'd be better off using an overhead or roof view with all the pit lp's activated (i.e. viewable).

2) You said, "I've tried recording new files for pit0 and minpit0 so far, but both times they've caused this (attached)."
a) all min lp's are to the right side of the pit lp, max lp's are to the left of pit lp
b) the two significant pit lp's for a pit road to the right of the racing surface are the maxpit0.lp and pit0.lp, conversely, the two significant pit lp's for a pit road to the left of the racing surface are the minpit0.lp and pit0.lp

 I've seen tracks with overlapping track sections that have caused ai problems, but I'll assume this is not the problem

4) lp's that are not continuous can cause problems, i.e. the lp has lateral shifts in the line and/or parts of the line do not contain track/driving information.

5) misnaming lp's and/or incorrect left/right layout can cause problems.

I suggest you read these lp guides:

(This link contains the following two links and many other NR2003 references/guides)

Reflap (NR2003 lp Creation Tool) "How To"

Pitroad, Pitstalls, and Pit lp's "HOW TO"

Good luck
Come back for further help as required.

To clarify the screenshot, the AI are driving pretty much wherever they want when they're supposed to be exiting the pits, either going out onto the grass (in some cases just straight onto the racing surface) or driving up against the pit wall. The pileup in Dale Earnhardt's stall for example is from cars driving against the wall and ramming into each other. None of the AI in the photo drove through the pits like normal (except the ones that are still parked).

I took the screenshot about 30-40 seconds into a practice session, before any cars even completed a lap at speed.
