A partnership to last...
SRX1.PNG

While I consider myself generally OK at modeling, as I was making the cage last time I realized something... just how new I was to modeling seriously. As much as id love to do this whole thing by my lonesome, I also would love to make a mod that's not crap. I just so happens to be friends/acquaintances with a modeler whos taken interest, and also just so happened to want to lend a hand. So, here begins the joint modeling with both me and @Smaguris as modelers. He's got much much much more modeling work under his belt, and knows his way round blender better than I can sweet talk my way to making myself sound half-professional on an old forum site... haha. Speaking of models, right now I'm working on all the little parts, bits, and bobs of the car (below), and smag kicked-ass on the beautiful shell of the SRX car (above). I'm not really one to talk, nor do I have much else to say in this thread, so uhh.... enjoy the screenshots!

Actually, on second thought I do have something to add. Just a footnote here, things might slow down a bit. Its currently off season for my IRL Racing stuff, so I'm currently hard at work dissembling and rebuilding my sprint car for the new season, and on top of that, there's a massive hurricane heading right for me! Yay! So uhh, I hope I don't go dark, but if you don't see anything on this thread for a while, ya know why. Power grid isn't known to be the most resilient at the best of times...

Hope yall are having a fantastic week! Cheers to the next SRX event tomorrow!

Thought I'd just weigh in to say that I'm very excited to be working on this with @SprintRacer92 , when I was at the point at learning 3D that he is at now, my models certainly didn't look this good. I'm hoping my most useful addition will be texturing, as learning UV unwrapping is painful and I feel quite confident with it. In the later stages I'm also hoping to put out a few high quality Blender render scenes, after all most of the people that know of me do so due to my render scenes.

This project is coming along very nicely. The progress shots give us all much to be excited about. While we may run this mod on any tracks we like when the mod comes out, the Camping World SRX racing series was especially created by Ray Evernham and Tony Stewart to promote short track racing. The beauty of that for NR2003 fans is that there are a ton a great short tracks to run these cars on when it's finally released. :D

Been a while! Its good to be back with a much needed boost of confidence. I spent most of my day today finishing @Burnout's video on the DeLorean, and thanks to that, the Nisbet files, old pits forms, etc etc... the biggest hurdle has been breached! Its in the game and runs near flawlessly. As thrilled as I am that it worked, I don't wanna get too happy though. You may or may not have noticed the big great hole in the front of the car. Well, I haven't added the hood or internals yet, so, that still needs to be done. Infact, this is but the beginning, as damage and LOD's are yet to come. But... I'm just overjoyed that the main part of the car runs and works, and that alone i feel is cause to celebrate haha.

Cheers everyone, ill be back to the swamp of codes for now... until the next update post from me anyways.
