Hello all, im looking for ways to get the Ai to play smarter strategys. I like to play against the Ai and sometimes i get good finishes or wins because they just do stupid strat calls. There so have been so many times where an Ai car will be good all race (and sometimes dominate the thing) and then they pit with 2 - 5 laps to go and end up screwing their day and points position. This is especially annoying at road courses because guys who should be 25th - 30th in points end up lucking their way into the playoffs because the good cars stay out under caution knowing they cant make it. Everytime i do a season most drivers cant make it past 17 top 10s or dont even make the playoffs and its usually because they mess up in the strategy department

Side note: I throw cautions for stages so maybe thats apart of the problem...

Idk if doing stages would be the problem. Maybe the race length is kind of awkward, I know if I accidentally make the race length something where they're borderline on having to pit again by the end of the race it'll often end with fuel mileage even if it was a caution free race

AI doesn't know a stage end is coming so their pit strategy is off. Maybe try using running 3 individual races, at stage length? Use the "SaveGameEditor" to set the field for the 2nd and 3rd stages?. I'm not sure if "!lap- #" works offline but if it does, you could use it to keep lapped cars lapped and if a driver fell out early, don't include them in the final stages.

Good luck, have fun!

Yeah that definitly make sense, But the thing is a like to run 25% races in a season so like the guy above said should i maybe just change the length of the races?

Yeah that might be it because i always run 25% races and like you said at certain tracks ai are just on the line of fuel and decide to come in even with a enough fuel. this really hurt superspeedway racing towards the end especially
