ad67 Ferrari 330 mod new focus

My new focus is the ad67 and Ferrari 330 cars. My intent will be to give the car set the feel of that era. With the painting of the cars so that they look like a car of that era at the end of a race. Gritty, dirty, dented and patched. In the 2015 trans am mod some one had suggested a few cars should show signs of damage.
I put a lot of tape and tire rubs on a few and while racing it feels fantastic to roll up on them. The visual is great. On the 1970 Trans Am set the biggest dust up between my co-conspirator Highbank and I was over how much dirt I wanted to put on the cars.
We compromised, I removed a lot of the dirt overlays and Highbank put one smudge of dirt on one car underneath the back bumper. But I must and did say then that Highbank was right...... For that great set.

Now I am about to dirty up some cars. All the racing pictures I will be looking at will be end of the race or out of the race cars.
I am standing at work with no idea and have not touched a car yet my mind clearly sees dirty smoking Lemans' cars. And just during the 10 minutes it took my slow typing self to type the last sentence the name of the set came clear to me.

Ok so I am comfortable that I can dent and dirty a car. Now the first car in the set will not be dented and just have a little road dust on it and rating wise it will be the car to beat. The 24 hours of Le-mans 1967 winner driven by Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt won by 4 laps. As I wont make a full yearly set I believe three back marker cars will be wrecked up and rated slow so they give the visual and cause some traffic.

Getting the hang of this template. taking a shot at the Gurney Foyt 1967 gt40 mark 4 on this model I will see if I like it in the end, I'll keep tweaking it for now and plot out the template.

I am searching hard drives for this car set. I had made 20 cars for it before put away my files and stopped being creative with NR2003. I will complete it when I find the files.

Ok found all my files for the ad67 mod. I watched Videos of Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt talk about this race as well as other videos from crew members and staff. What stood out for me was how taken every one was with Ford Motor Company's commitment to the race program. ......... So to not use the Ford GT40 model for the Gurney Foyt car would have killed the spirit of the car set right off the starting line. Would have been a green, yellow, black flag, red flag go home affair. That meant to try and get the GT40 model in the mod to hint at being a Ford MK lV version.

Was there much?
I was under the impression that Henry Ford II had a big tanty after Enzo told him that he couldn't buy Ferrari and then lurched and whinged from Lotus, to Lola. It was Shelby-American and John Wyer who ended up campaigning the cars at Le Mans.

FoMoCo has a notorious history around the world, of being disinterested. People win despite or and may in spite of FoMoCo.
