Nice little OLD film of the Meadowdale race...helpful to at least get some basic car colors defined.

They just released a new conversion of the NR2003 track conversion from Factor and just about every other racing title out there...this one looks pretty good. So I'm applying myself to putting together a car set to simulate the 1968 event...this time because he field is small enough and the track handles 32 cars I can include both the O2 and U2 classes.

Not a lot of images out there to work from so taking images from earlier and later races in '68 help make this set possible.

Interesting looking at how many road courses had ovals in thier plans at one point. Riverside, Meadowdale, Fuji, just to name the ones I can think of off the top my head

So a few of my Riverside cars will drop into this set as they were the same, some won't due to some color and small details. I care about the small details...

4th place: #77 Craig Fisher Firebird
NOTE: This was the first appearance of the Pontiac Firebird in the Trans-Am Series. Truth be known it was actually an ex-Penske Camaro with Firebird body parts to make it a faux-Firebird.

Ya this is a long leap, the car was an NSU 100TTS, the mod is an NSU 100TTS, a little strong, easily do deal with but the mod itself id weak...but it's there...fairly fictitious as far as a paint scheme, nothing out there that I could find...

16th place: #72 Peter Braun/Dick Drexler NUS 1000TTS

The color is correct...

This is the last car that finished in this race the rest are DNFs, but they are important...

22nd (DQ'd) #4 George Follmer Javelin

Incidentally, Follmer was DQ"d for intentionally ramming a slower Mustang driver who apparently was in George Follmer's way. That Mustang driver was none other than one Jerry Titus. But for his impatience Follmer might have had a very strong finish at Meadowdale.

I found this image of the deed in an old Vintage Motorsports issue I collected for just this purpose years ago...

Sounds like George to me...
