Hello all. I am going to dive into 3D modeling for TSOs. I don't believe I'll ever tackle a car mod or anything though. I don't have the patience to see something that large through to the end. So I was hoping I could start my own thread to ask questions and the pros could help me out on my journey and possibly others.

I will be using Blender. I purchased a training class on Udemy for blender and it's pretty good so far. I think it will be somewhat of a challenge for me but doable for sure. Here is the link to the course I bought. It is NOT an affiliate link or anything like that.

I also have watched the 3 part tutorial by Mystical that is really straightforward and really lays out the steps beginning to end.

My first question has to do with the complexity limit of the object for NR2003. I've read that the model should be kept to 400ish vertices but when I open many of the objects currently in use at many tracks they have many more than that. Maybe I'm just not understanding it correctly. For example, the box truck taken from one of the PST tracks has 2,645 verts. Is this the same number I should be working about?

I think somehow when the model was imported or converted it decimated it creating duplicate verts on top of each-other. 2k verts for 3do in-game would most definitely crash the game.
