Why the HELL, are you going on about ripping, This thread has turned sour, to many "know it alls" for me, stop hyjacking the thread, and bringing in other models to bitch about......have a nice day.
Yet you link a site that doesn't seem to have a 3d viewer for those models. Which to my knowledge, would be required to rip them. Then again, it's a lot easier and less of a hassle to just purchase them, as I'm assuming Jack did. As far as the models from EA, who the hell didn't rip their models? Especially after killing any future hopes of a new NASCAR Racing sim when they secured the exclusive NASCAR licensing.By the way it's cool noting that those models were taken from a 3d model website.

Every Chevy/Ford/Toyota 3d model sold online is supposed for "Editorial Use Only" after GM and Ford started cracking down on 3d marketplaces for selling models of their vehicles. That's not a option to change the license. However it is up to them companies whether or not they want to enforce that license in which case even the models you use and post on Twitter would be subjected to that license since you are not using them in any editorials. 3d artists know their models will get used differently than what the license says. Hell, think they'd really make enough money if all people did was use them in news articles (editorial use only, right)? And no, artists don't want their assets distributed, and they may even include a readme stating that. But taking a 400000 poly model down to less than 10000 polys for use in a game can constitute enough of a change to allow redistribution. So long as the files are encrypted, which with 3do's, it's a pain in the royal ass if not impossible to make them usable once again after they've been compiled.. For cars at least.
Heres the bottom line. Several of the other guys did a drive by over here because I suppose they are butt hurt someone might make another nextgen mod and take away some of their glory. Hell I could care less what mod or how many will be made ever.
The problem I have with all these azzholes popping that mouth off is them saying I have stolen something and trying to pass it as my own. Thats just BS and anyone whos been around anytime in this game knows better.
DSG knows full well what I intended to do with his models. We have had many conversations about it.
So to everyone lets just get back to the thread as it was intended as I'm starting on the mustang today.
Looks good, lines look particularly clean.
Curious to see what you would do for the 4th model.
For better realism, IMO the 4th model could be the generic test car they used for the NG announcement.
You may need to reword what you are saying.How can we help you get these in game? I know the models are just the beginning of a ton of work.
My initial thought from a distance is they still look too high poly (basically they look too good). Looks great, keep it up!

lol Exactly. Nothing that I said was questioning the man's ability. In fact, simply praising it. It's no lie that making a mod is not simple, even if you're good at it.
Yeah, I don't get it. Mod making, from what I've seen, is not a one-man job. I never thought I'd see someone get offended (on someone else's behalf at that) by a person offering to help, but here we are.

Even if that's the case, he's still just giving an opinion based on what he sees so far. One I'm actually inclined to agree with. The whole "Don't you know who he is?" attitude with the response was still uncalled for.
Eh, whatever. Apparently people have issues with anything I say despite all that I try and help with. I've also been one of the largest proponents of content creator respect and appreciation. So maybe I should've reciprocated the question of who's who.
Anyway, back to the topic of discussion...I still think they look high poly because they look very detailed and it looks awesome! I obviously don't have the poly count nor do I even know what the limit is specifically. So if it's at the final stage, that's really cool! I just want performance to maintain at it's current level or improve over our last gen car. Looking forward to seeing more!

Well, not defending Martinrace‘s comment just making an observation based off of what I got out of his post. It didn’t seem to me to be about helping as more about the Polly count comment but hell I could be wrong.
My opinion on the pics that Jack has provided so far… They do look exceptionally good and I can’t say for sure if they are going to be within the Polly count to work, I’ve never done a mod. I will say that DMR Cup mods had some pretty smooth lines and worked well in the game. So i hope he is on the right track.
