the physics are either cup cts gns or pta. all .cup mods drive the same etc. so aerodynamics dont matter
insert almighty cube mod

Honestly, at this point in time, iRacing is rich beyond their wildest dreams they don't care about NR2003 anymore...someone could develop a new physics package for this mod and no one would care...but that's just me

If that's the case then what's stopping us from reverse engineering the exe?
Someone who is as willing to pull apart NR2003 as Illja and Peter are willing to pull apart AC probably. And even AC was a fairly open platform to begin with compared to NR.

Yes that's true, I just think it would be awesome to have a representation of what these cars drive like but it doesn't really matter

Might we do a little Q&A?

* What will be the pacecar model?
If used from another mod etc. If new, will a template be available?

* What driver model will be used?
If used from another mod etc

There are new physics models out there and they can be used. The problem is that most of the physics variables are not identified as to what they represent. So those who are making new physics types have a limited set of options to tweak. Which makes it that much harder.
I would think that with the new cars being 5-speed transmissions we could build a new set off of the PTA physics and adjust the weight and aero forces and such to match. BUT something like that couldn't come until well after the car has been raced several times so that we have something to compare variable change results to.

Yes, I suppose that would work fairly well. How much do you guys think the 5 gears will change the driving style at the short tracks compared to the 4 we have now?

No.
Question:
If this daft idea to run a race inside the LA Coliseum gets up, would the cars run in-out transmissions like Sprint Cars do?

They have 0 gears.

No.
Not exactly.
Engine, tailshaft, in-out linkage, spool drive.

No gearbox at all.

For most sprintcars, whatever you get out of the engine directly drives the rear wheels.

dont know about the pace car, the driver model will be the same one that is used for mencs19

When I heard they'll gonna race Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum and I was wondering what type of setups on their NextGen cup cars they gonna race on? In my 35th years of being a huge fan of NASCAR I never seen or watched a race inside of the Coliseum I only watched was road course Riverside in 1986 on TV first time watching Daytona 500 1988 and watched every single race that I can think of so I'll give it a try to see if I like it or not so this will be very interested to watch in February 2022 season
