This set includes 48 cars from the USAC Stock Car Series circa 1956-1958. A majority of these cars are from the 1956 season, but I've included a handful of '57 and '58 drivers to round out the roster. This set includes ratings - I wanted to rate the cars in such a way that created a racing environment similar to how the series ran back then. There are several front runners, some mid-packers and also some backmarkers. Please feel free to tweak the ratings to your own liking.
This set can be used with my other sets, ratings will work for mixed series. A lot of MARC drivers ran the USAC Mid-West races, and several 'WEST' drivers drove in the USAC West Coast races. Feel free to mix and match your entry lists.
Just a note on the paints included in this carset... I had more reference photos to work with this time around. That being said, most of these photos were from only two or three races, so these schemes are based on how they looked for those specific races. There are no videos that I could find from this era so I had to rely solely on the few reference photos I could find. I'm pretty happy with how most of these turned out. I would LOVE to find more photos to add cars, or refine existing schemes. As usual, some of these cars are incredibly accurate, some of these cars are 'somewhat accurate' and some are 'not very accurate at all'.
Additionally, several drivers competing for Championship raced for different teams out West and in the Mid-West. I have included as many variations as I could determine. Only a few drivers raced the same car in both regions, and for that reason - Johnny Mantz, Troy Ruttman and a few others have multiple cars.
I have used the Pit Crews from MartinRace and JeBrown's carsets as they are simply the best, most accurate pit crews for this era of racing. I genuinely appreciate their hard work and thank them for their contributions.
