Rodney Orr's #37 1994 Ford Thunderbird (Daytona 500) 2018-03-07

Hey everyone! Here is my tribute to another one of NASCAR's fallen racers, my attempt at Rodney Orr's #37 Ford Thunderbird he was planning to run the 1994 Daytona 500 and the ensuing Winston Cup Series season in. Unfortunately his life was tragically cut short on February 14th 1994 while practicing for the 500. I learned a lot about this man while doing the research for this car. Such as he got his start in Motocross, he was the 1993 Goody's Dash Series champion, and that during the first day of testing for the 1994 500 he ran the seventh fastest lap of the entire field despite it being his first time at Daytona with those type of cars. Though sporting a different paint scheme, this was the same car Davey Allison drove during the 1993 Daytona 500, Rodney purchased it secondhand to get his start in the Cup series. May he now live on forever through NR2003. RIP Rodney 1962-1994
