In 1957 Chevrolet issued basic black utility coupes for NASCAR competition and gave them to some of the Chevy team drivers. Frankie Schneider drove his #62 "Black Widow" in four races during the 1957 season. Rex White, Jack Smith, Speedy Thompson and Buck Baker also drove these cars.
