The first Paint I upload here is of a Guy with the funniest Name I've ever heard a Race Car Driver have. Truly amazing.

So, short History Time, as that's what I like to do.

Australian Touring Car Star Dick Johnson (yes, that's his name and I'll be saying it as much as I can) had a brief stint in the US driving select Races in both 1989 and 1990 on the Cup Level, before the Likes of Marcos Ambrose and Shane Van Gisbergen. Ross Palmer (Owner of Palmer Tube Mills and Sponsor of Johnson) bought out the Welding Tube Company of America in the late 80s, and having seen Success with Johnson in the Touring Car Series prompted him to try recreating it overseas. Johnson had a bit of Experience driving the bulky Stock Cars of the US, as he had participated in Australia's inaugural NASCAR Race: the 1988 Goodyear NASCAR 500 at Melbourne's Calder Park Thunderdome.

Johnson's Foray into NASCAR is mostly remembered for two things: One being a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Appearance in Days of Thunder, and the other being that he was the first to ever drop an F-Bomb in a NASCAR Broadcast. Another barely brought-up Detail was that Johnson's Crew Chief was newcomer Ray Evernham. Yes, the Ray Evernham, all before testing the Waters with Alan Kulwicki or winning four Championships with Jeff Gordon. Johnson did some pretty impressive stuff for how long he stuck (which wasn't long at all).

Despite being rather obscure, Johnson's Story wasn't obscure enough to hinder him from appearing in the Cup90 Carsets for 1989 and 1990. The Paints, admittedly though, haven't aged the best, given the Lack of Info and Pictures at the Time. This wasn't my primary reason for painting it though, (I only found out once I was ready to create the Car File in-game actually). I had learned of Johnson in NASCAR a little over a While ago, and as a Fan of painting obscure 90s Schemes took it upon myself to paint it. Basically, I killed two Birds with one Stone.

This Car is rated and features both a Driver and Pit Crew painted by yours truly. Hopefully you'll enjoy this obscure Piece of NASCAR History preserved in NR as much as I do!

As an Aussie I can confirm this man is a legend. How did anyone not laugh at his name is a riddle for the ages.
A very polarising figure in Australian Motorsports. Youtube his exploits! Very down to earth and tell it like it is kinda guy.
Now co-owns his Supercar Team with Roger Penske, the team that Scott McLaughlin drove to his Supercar Championships before venturing, successfully to Indycars with Penske.
