1962 Season Car Set Part 2 - The Best of the Rest

1962 Season Car Set Part 2 - The Best of the Rest 1.0

  • You DO NOT need an account in order to download the content that we host....ONLY make an account if you plan to be an ACTIVE member.
  • After a lot of thought and conversations within the community, we’re happy to announce that Stunod Racing will not be shutting down. The incredible support we’ve seen from all of you has played a huge role in this decision, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who values and contributes to what makes this community so special.

We’ve been exploring ways to manage the costs of keeping Stunod Racing up and running, as the current expenses felt unsustainable. We considered moving conversations to Discord or creating a standalone site for file hosting, but those options didn’t really fit what most of the community wants or the experience we aim to provide.

Here’s the plan moving forward: Stunod Racing will remain open, but we’ll be making some changes to how files are hosted. There will be a few upfront costs during this transition, but these updates will help reduce our expenses over time and make things more manageable in the long run. We’ve been working with a few members and programmers to figure out the best solutions, and while there are still some details to iron out, we’re confident we’re heading in the right direction.

Thank you for sticking with us and being patient as we work through these changes. With your support, we’ll ensure Stunod Racing continues to be a place for creativity, collaboration, and connection in the racing community.

Stay tuned—we’ll share more updates soon!

Part 2 is finally here! Get ready, racing was different in 1962. Beating and banging and going for broke was the style of the day. In the Southern 500, Richard Petty blew a left front tire, yet continued to race on three wheels for the final four laps. Johnny Allen beat Rex White to the checkered flag by six inches at Bowman Gray Stadium, then crashed his car over the wall before he could get to Victory Lane. Yep, drivers seemed to race like every lap was the last one back then, so don't forget to tighten your safety belt and hang on to that wheel. Welcome to 1962...part2!

In addition to cars from the 1962 NASCAR Season, this set also contains 3 cars from the 1961 NASCAR Season, as well as 4 cars from the 1962 USAC Season and a couple of fictionals.
This set wouldn't be possible without King D.A. & BlackWidow Motorsports who did all the heavy lifting in creating the GN63 mod. Also, huge thanks to Delta Sim Racing for continuing to give it a home. Get it here: http://www.deltasimracing.com/NR2003/NR2003_GN63/NR2003_GN63.htm Also, many thanks to the original template makers Bill and Ace27. Thanks to Jaster D'an for the 1962 Impala template available here http://www.minnesota-slim.net/nr2003/cars/index.html#nr03temps Pit crews were painted for use with the 1970 Grand National SS Pitbox by Rioux which is available here http://stunodracing.net/index.php?resources/1970-grand-national-ss-pitbox.893/
