I was able to get the model imported into Blender and set everything up for the render but I was wanting to know if I have to go back and import everything all over again every time I use Blender? I tried saving the scene but when I open it back up it's the model but without textures. And secondly, is there anything I can do with the wheel texture? It doesn't want to show up very well no matter what I try in the settings. Reviac Render.jpg

I am not 100% but I am pretty sure you have to have the textures and the obj model in the same folder and if you move anything the textures will reset. I usually keep everything on my carviewer folder, since that is where the textures are already and I convert the x file from carviewer to the OBJ file. The only thing that typically resets for me is the paint scheme texture because I overwrite it when I paint a new car.

Once you assign the materials to your meshes, as long as the file directories haven't moved then everything should reload again. Also textures only show up when you are in Cycles or Eve render view modes.

I hope no one thought I was a hit and run lol. For some reason I cannot login on my phone so I had to wait until I got home. I was thinking of the replies I had gotten to this problem and I have been watching the popular video on how to render with Blender and it hit me what I was doing wrong. Both of your all's replies are correct but the thing I was forgetting to do was to click the option I have the arrow pointing to. Once I did this, everything loaded fine and in the saved as scene. box.jpg Now, just to get some better looking wheels loaded up.

That gets everyone when they are new to blender (got me too). You just have to keep in mind that blender is a 3D program first and a renderer second, so it will always have the Wireframe/3D model/3D model with textures/and the 3D model with textures and lighting as separate selections. The main advantage to this is that it uses less memory when you have a lower setting selected when you are working with something that does not require lighting and/or textures.

Yeah those spheres are the cycles and eve render view modes. Blender needed to be in one of those modes for textures appear. I usually just keep it in Material preview, a.k.a. lookdev mode.

Thank you both, very much! I guess I know why it's taken me this long to even try and get this working, it'll be a learning experience for certain.

Last one, I was able to figure out the wheel texture. For whatever reason it gets the wheel from the paint template. This is going to eat up even more of my time I can easily see lol. buckees.jpg

New model new problem. I was able to get the CUP90 Lumina into Blender but I was having some issues with my paint texture being really flat no matter what I would change. I came across this post here, Blender Shading and it worked to correct the flat paint issue but now I have some distortion going on in the circled area. IF I get this area smooth, it seems to cast some sort of shade on the front end? I can live with the distortion way more than the messed up paint but it would be nice to have my cake and eat it too.

Hard to tell without looking at the model topology but could be a normal shading issue.

I can live with it, especially if it's normal and there's nothing else I can change, it's just one of those OCD things lol.
