For the upcoming 2021 Cup Season - If you could make one change to the cars, rules, Teams or Drivers, what would it be?

I'll start and I will keep it simple - I would get rid of the 550 HP low downforce package. :)

Even more changes to the schedule. As much as I dislike charters, now is not the time to do them away with three new teams coming in having just spent a ton on one.

It would put meaning back into Qualifying and expense for the teams and I think thats why NASCAR started the charters.

No.
1970s style aero-warrior wings.

- so that the cars are not as twitchy when being bump drafted.
- so that the drivers have a better chance to see what is behind them (Dale's "big ass" spoiler argument).
- so that the aero wash coming off the car in front is diffuse by the time it hits the splitter of the car following
- because they look cool

The only change I would make would be the return of real stock cars.
Everytime I hear that, I think of a NASCAR that races FWD 4 and 6 cylinder cars in the 90's, since those were the models being correlated on track. Would probably piss off the purists more than the NextGen is planned to.

If they were to go to truly stock models, they would be probably even more radical then what we are getting in 2022

The whole stock cars thing would probably piss off the purists even more, since modern cars are a FAR cry from the 1960's Fairlane based technology origin that underpins NASCAR machines today.

No.
If you eliminate trucks, SUVs and vans in the USA for 2020:
6 Honda Civic 255,716
7 Toyota Camry 251,798
13 Toyota Corolla 201,442
20 Nissan Altima 138,098
36 Chevrolet Malibu 111,636
43 Ford Fusion 93,114

Malibu/Fusion/Camry/Altima running some kind of engine would be neat...

Well, assuming that even at that time it was not 100% stock car, I mean, at least it could be as close as possible, using factory body and chassis at least.

But even if it's FWD like you said, at least it would be models sold at dealerships. Okay, okay, I'm totally off the curve I recognize.

Even then, you run into a whole host of parity and BoP complaints.

You have either reinvented:
- NASCAR
- Supercars
- GT300 in Super GT
- WTCC (TCR)
- BTCC

Pick one.

Well, I don't know BTCC currently, but I believe that they use stock body and chassis? If so, my idea would be more or less like that...

What do all of you think about common engines - Like in the truck series where they all race Chevy engines. It's coming to the CUP series soon I feel, maybe with the Next Gen Car.

I think the engine specifications would be more interesting, instead of using the same engines. For example, it could limit the number of cylinders and displacements. It's okay to run away from the concept, but as I said, it could be at least, at the very least, the body and chassis stock.

The BTCC provides a crate engine in lieu of the manufacturer not providing one.
Super GT in GT300 has a debranded V8 that looks suspiciously like a VK45.
Technically the Supercars will allow you to debrand an engine and put it into another car; which might be the case at Kelly Grove Racing?

It's fine. Nobody from the outside can see what magic hamsters are under the hood.

Perhaps a mixture of that. As I said, body/shape/chassis from the factory, just like the factory ones. It's an utopia, but man, it is lovely to watch the old Nascar videos.
