Why #12?

Roger Penske has left.
Because I see zero inclination for any other number.
With that said, the #12 there was very arbitrary- the point was more that it looks likely Will will get the #17.

Added note: The #12 was originally brought in not by Roger but by Dean Fiore of all people.

No.
Tim Blanchard Racing now owns two Mustangs ex-Red 23. Tim Slade looks like the most likely to pony up to the do.

The ex-Red 23 REC has now been bought by "everyone's favourite whinger" Brad Jones.

Phil Munday is now out.

Supercars is talking about buying/leasing the IP directly from various manufacturers and then putting the bodies over the control chassis/control chassis with unbranded engine.

16 confirmed slots. 8 left.
2 - Brad Jones Racing
2 - Tekno
2 - Matt Stone
1 - Kelly
1 - Tim Blanchard

I think that who Rick Kelly signs in that as yet unnumbered Mustang, is the one that triggers the game of Kerplunk.

Let's make some guesses.

BJR: Unchanged- changing would mean either sacking the owner's son or the owner of a REC.
Tekno: Pither stays, Alex Davison goes. Who replaces him? Does Fabs take the worst seat on the grid just to stay racing? Does Tom Randle chance it? Do they get a pay driver i.e. Matt Chahda or someone like him?
MSR: Unchanged- if Superlite doesn't happen again, Kostecki is kept and Goddard is sacked
Kelly: David Reynolds- while it would be funny if he ended without a seat, it won't happen
Erebus (by proxy): Brodie- this is obvious
TBR: Slade- this is also obvious

Kostecki in Ambrose's NASCAR 2nd Div car (whatever it was called at the time) at Queensland Raceway: mid 1:04
Supercars Championship lap record at (James Courtney 2018) at Queensland Raceway: 1:09.659

NASCAR 2nd Div car is 5 seconds a lap faster than the Supercars.

As at this morning and unconfirmed, Fabian Coulthard has taken "the worst seat on the grid just to stay racing".

#19 - Fabian Coulthard??
#22 - Chris Pither??

Also rumours that numbers will swap between Team 18 and Tekno.
#18, #19 - Team 18.
#20, #22 - Tekno. (possibly to become #21)

I doubt this for only one reason: T18 have only had the 20 for one year.
Talking of number swaps, the chats in the BOSB Instagram account I run have been going off with talk that the #12 will become #11.

WHY
Yeah I know why they are changing, but that's... not the number I expected.

Yeah I know why they are changing, but that's... not the number I expected.

In 1984, Dick Johnson bought the two Fox Body Mustangs from Zakspeed and the 302 Windsor engines from Team Roush Protofab.
The Roush Engines were rubbish; so he hired an ex-HDT driver but pretty handy engineer called Larry Perkins.

Perkins basically built a new set of engines for Johnson and they could never really make the V8 produce anything like enough power to beat the Jaguars; nor complete with enough rubber on the road to beat the BMWs on the goat tracks like Amaroo, Oran, Winton, or Wanneroo.

Maybe it's an allusion to that?
