Some fake news there.

Yes, they have urged former Holden dealers to refund deposits.
No, it's not that Corvette isn't coming; more that they plan to create new GMSV dealers and close all Holden dealers.

LEAK:
The Supercars' Championship appears to have come to a profit-sharing arrangement with the teams (presumably for TV rights revenues etc.) which means that no new RECs will be issued until season's end in 2022.
That also means that because Gen-2 cars won't be given VCDs to compete alongside Gen-3 cars, that fields will be effectively limited to just 24 in 2022.

24 cars at Bathurst is as weak as water.

There's two important considerations:
1. New teams for 2021- looks pretty certain, whether that's Phil Munday, Tim Blanchard, or a Erebus/MSR expansion
2. Existing teams fielding wildcars- cough cough Rossi/Hinch
I'm not saying there will be more than 24 cars at Bathurst in 2022, I'm saying that it isn't certain there won't.

And now I find out that I my information, was correct.

Instead Supercars says it is comfortable staying at a permanent grid of 24 when the new generation cars fire up in 2022.

One fundamental reason is adding more permanent entries via more Racing Entitlements
Contracts (RECs) would split the income pie into thinner slices, something existing team owners would probably resist.
“The income side of it is part of it,” conceded Casey.
“But we have got an awesome product now with great racing that produces an incredible experience whether you are on the ground live or watching on television."
“I think 24 is a good number. It serves us well currently for a whole range of reasons. More cars on the track doesn’t necessarily mean better racing or a better show."

- Auto Action, 22nd Oct 2020

Also from that article:
"That may disappoint long-term V8 fans who remember the days of pre-qualifying and 30-plus car grids were common"

Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) confirmed today that it will return for its 41st season in 2021, with the Shell V-Power Racing Team competing with two Ford Mustangs in the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.
The team confirmed its plans for next season following today’s announcement by Team Penske that it would not return for the 2021 Supercars season.

According to Speedcafe:

Tim Blanchard will set up his own 1 car team with Tim Slade driving.
BJR will buy Phil Munday's REC to continue to run four cars in 2021.
Anton and Will Davison will sign with DJR for 2021.

According to fans:
Coulthard and David Reynolds could fill Kelly's seat.

Ooooo

- Dick Johnson on SEN 1116 this morning was talking about how his rubbish Fox Body Mustang from Roush forced him to buy Andy Rouse's Sierras which were also rubbish.

- the Gen 3 IP for Mustang S550 is provided directly from head office.

- he was thinking about running #17 and #71 in 2021. #71 being the number on the first Mustang he ran in 1984.

Betty Klimenko just spilled the beans that Anton De Pasquale won't be returning to Erebus next year.

Is this the worst kept secret in the world?

I assumed it was that Penske was leaving and taking the best driver in the sport with them. When they officially announced it it was like, "didn't we already know this a month ago?"
