I have the trial version of 3DS Max 2019 downloaded and went to try and do some renders of MENCup19's schemes. I have the standard scene that is off of the SNG site. Unfortunately, it's not able to do the render properly as there's not a Mental Ray plugin for the new versions and the scene was made to be used with Mental Ray.

Here's what it does just using the standard conversion methods that it does:

I'm not very good with 3DS Max period so I don't really know much about tweaking the scene. But I was wondering if anyone can help me by either offering suggestions to fix it or sending me a scene that would work? Any help would be appreciated.

Why don't you drop back to 2018 max version, it does support mental ray. Here's a test render I just did.

It's because I'm using the trial versions and I had already used up the 30 day trial for 2018. I've actually got 2016, 2017, and 2018 on my computer, I just can't use them.

I would like to be able to use 3DS Max more often but I can't get the student verison since I haven't been to college in over 15 years and the monthly subscription to use it is almost $200 a month. I've also tried to look for older versions so that I can at least use the trials on them but every link to download them takes me to the Autodesk site where they're no longer available.
