What did you have your wheel settings at and what type of wheel are you using. I couldn't figure out how to get a different camera view ( in car) either. I can't drive outside of the car view. it's to counter reactive for me.
i'm running with a controller until I get my wheel back, and there is a cockpit cam you just can't see the wheel ingame, just the bars. Try this
For anyone on the fence about this game.
While it may not be a full on sim, it is an absolute blast!
I've had it for about a week and I've put hours into it. Fast paced, close racing, and once you get used to it, the physics aren't horrible. Also all of the fictional tracks are very well designed, and I've heard they are working on getting licensing for real tracks, so maybe we'll see some.

A ton of fun to watch Maddog blowing around in the Midgits and Sprints
On my G920 wheel the "X" key changes camera views, pressing the ; key on your keyboard changes the views.. I purchased this game last nite on Steam and can't stop playing it. It reminds me of the Ratbag Dirt Car racing games with better graphics. Love it.

If you've played with the Ratbag Dirt Track Racing games driving in this game is about the same. I've been waiting a long time for a game like this to come out. For $29.95 this game is a steal, with Steam if you play it for a couple hours and don't like it you can ask for a refund.
This is not a game that you can jump in and win races right off the bat, I've completed a career in TQ Midgets and am about a1/4th of the way thru a career in 305 Sprints. I've yet to win a heat race, B-Main, or A-Main.
The game does have an ingame paint shop that isn't too bad. Here's my #7 305 sprint car.
I finished my career in the 305 Sprint Cars and finally got my first win. I started my career in the 410's and finished 17th in my first race in the A-Main , these 410's are a real beast to drive. Here's the paint for my 410 and driver.

@Bill1947 I still have that...Rat Bag!.......In Tony Stewart, what settings do you have on your wheel? My Fanatec can't seem to "feel" like anything but an old PS2 wheel. So I'm not sold, my wheel does not have PS or Xbox settings in it but could configure if they had a configuration spot that's detailed, not generic. I'll dig around some more.

The tracks in this game are very well done. At the track called Five Forks the train up on the trestle actually moves.
In my second career race I managed an 18th place finish out of 25 cars. I'm starting to get the hang of driving the 410's, it's wide open on the straights and feather the gas thru the turns.
It does not take long to learn to drive these cars. You lose time going sideways. The game is a blast. You can make it as easy or hard as you want.
