Actually this is a short video - NR2003 Melbourne, Albert Park (work in progress) Doing a massive graphic and track.ini update on this track.

just for your information before you are too far in your work. Melbourne is reconfigurated especially with corners 9 and 10. Maybe you could include it.

Here is a video of the configuration changes:

I have zero intention of rebuilding the track. To do it correctly you would have to start from scratch. I'm just giving the original some new life.

Watching the video, who ever made the original made the track wider for some reason. That might be me.

Doesn't the Track also have more trees? Again, might be me.

Yeah it's wider than the real track and I'm still adding trees. Most are really close to the track sides which is really bad for on track cameras. I have been adding cameras. The original didn't have a cam file.

Actually if this track was built as wide as it really is you'd never see any passing.. It's very narrow. Like Monaco.

Just spitballing some ideas for potential projects in the 3d modeling and scale mianiature/model making realm, using an existing NR2003 base to test my ideas to see if they are remotely feasible. I'd say yes.

1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.png
So I've had the idea in my head of a "what-if" scenario where the Cutlass Supreme wasn't replaced by the Intrigue, and continued on with its W-Body stablemates. So here is a mock-concept of a 1998-2004 Cutlass Supreme Coupe.

The idea from the get go would start with the Grand Prix body, which I would then extend the rear glass to wraparound like the previous gen. Also the car would be slightly more squared off and angular compared to the Pontiac, not unlike the Team Om3gA model used to mock this up. The large rectangular grills on the slanted nose would be callbacks to the shovelnose Olds of the 70's that were so successful in NASCAR at the time. Finally the spoiler on a finished model would be squared off like the T-Birds rather than the w-shape on the Pontiacs.

So what do you think of my concept? I feel like the model we have here fairly closely resembles what the end goal would be, with some small alterations.

My Uncle modded out a green mid-90s Cutlass Supreme in his garage while I got to help as a teen. He babied the hell out of that car. This idea brings back A LOT of nostalgia for that. Love it.
