Hi,
I just got a Logitech g923 wheel and a shifter. I did read that the brake pedal was very stiff and it is. I really don't want to take it apart and start taking parts out. I got it working with NR2003 only problem is that I can't STOP! The brakes do work but it like stopping a car with a bad vacuum booster. I tried calibrating a bunch of times and also tried the software sensitivity on GHUB
I don't know what the software deal is with the other g920 or g29 wheels, but any help is appreciated so
Question would be:
Anybody with a new G923 get the brakes to work real good with NR2003?

Thanks for your help.
Steve

@Highbank

I keep reading anything higher then a G27 will now work properly with a 20 year old game.
It's actually working but the brake pedal is hard to press so your not able to get the throw you need like other pedals that have light resistance it's like pressing power brakes without power. I'm probably going to have to take out the rubber part and try to cut it down rather than leave it out because the intent was to have it in there to feel like a real brake pedal, but with the whole rubber in there like it is there is no free play and it just gets harder, it's not like a real brake pedal where you have free play to harder to hard.
I hate to have to take apart something brand new, I just don't like to do that, it's akin to having to take apart an engine that you just rebuilt.

Welp, took out the 26 screws to get to the brake pedal rubber and low and behold, Nada, Nothing. They must have heard the problem with the rubber and took it out and now have a bottoming spring, where the bottom coils bottom first and the top coils second. You can't cut it down either because the brakes will be on all the time. Instead of measuring the spring, my dumb butt had a few beers while working on it and put it back together. So I will ask Logitech about the spring, either if there will be a replacement coming or maybe a size, I'm betting on that I won't get a good answer.

Okay first of all don't take your pedals apart like they show in the videos online because when you're putting it back together you can pinch the wires like I did and didn't see it, went to try the wheel and nothing wouldn't light up nothing. I had to repair the very small gauge wires with no wiggle room and I basically shouldn't have been put in that position by watching the videos, MY BAD!!!!
1) Take the pedal pads off and then take out all the screws in the videos except for the 4 screws on each pedal mount.
2) You can then pull the top off CAREFULLY WATCHING THE WIRE MOUNTED TO THE TOP.
If you are choosing to mod the brake spring you can do it much easier with the mounts mounted.
Okay that said, I didn't end up changing the spring, what I did was get some caster wheel stops for my chair (no rig) I got the plastic ones the wheels sit in, they are very good on the wood floor.
I also adjusted the pedal sensitivity to lower than 50 percent not higher like you would think, I have it on 20 percent right now.
This is an important part I found:: When you calibrate the brake pedal in NR2003 you have to watch that you hit the 1.000(don't know how many zeros, you don't need to know that) Just 1.0 is what to get to. In calibration mode you can press the pedal more than once to get to 1.0 if you don't get it the first time. Someone mentioned wearing shoes helped them but I have 12.5 eee feet and prefer no shoes. I'm using no shoes and it has taken a good 6 sessions I say to get used to it, so it is a good idea to try to stick with it and not take it apart and just do what I mentioned. If I am wrong about anything I will come back and change it.

Thanks
Steve

Late to the party. I’ve read that some people assign the clutch as the brake in NR2003. I don’t think I’ve ever used the clutch in NR2003.
