DAYTONA 500 HIGHLIGHTS
EARLY LAPS:Christopher Bell and Jeremy Meade Jr would take the green flag, and there would be some super aggressive racing from laps 1 to 3. Then on lap 3, this would bring out the caution:
B.J. McLeod, Kyle Larson and Shane Monahan would bring out the caution on lap 3. McLeod and Monahan would be out of the race, and Larson still in. They went back green on lap 6 and next lap something big would happen.
THE BIG ONEFor the second season in a row, The Big One happens early on, this one on Lap 7. Chase Elliott and William Byron get together, and Byron gets into Justin Allgaier, causing this MASSIVE ACCIDENT, causing Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell to go on their roofs.
The crash wiped half of the field out of the race. They went back green and then this happened about 7 laps later.
Caution would come out and they would once again take the green a few laps later. We had a very long green flag run until some time after green flag pit stops, when Jeremy Meade Jr. spun. Then the green would fly with about 11 to go. Coming into turn 3 there would be a crash involving Meade, Custer and others, and again a caution. Then we would finally get green and go to the finish, and with about 3 to go, Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric got a HUGE draft and Cindric shot to the lead and would hang on to win the Great American Race.
