Well... Something I did has screwed up rFactor. It'll load, but a lot of the cars won't. I can unfreeze it with the "esc" key, but if I load a track with a car that hasn't fully loaded, it just show a square block for a car that says "TEMP" on the side.. lol So, any advice/tips on reinstalling??

Sometimes you can return to the pits (quit to pits) then go back out and they'll be gone. What it is is slow loading cars, they are probably hi-def and they just take a bit to get there, other times it's problems in those car files....I used to have that a lot with the Grands Slam (not the breakfast at Denny's)

No, there's a corrupted file somewhere, try reinstalling the "lite" exe, BEFORE you do that move your exe in your rFactor somewhere else, the reinstall will overwrite it. If that doesn't fix it then the mod has the corrupted file and needs reinstalled, that's rFactor's biggest problem, "too many Chiefs not enough cooks." In other word anybody and a monkey's uncle could make a mod and not know what they're doing, including myself.

Cool! I'll see if I can find a current link to rFactor "lite".. Sounds like a good way to test mods/cars w/o corrupting the main install. Either of you tried "Mod Launcher 2.0"?? I dld it but haven't installed it. Was thinking about using it once I reinstall the sim..

Been there done that...BUT let me warn you...install one thing at a time, whether it be a track or a mod, install it, test it, then move on...otherwise you've created a nightmare for your game.

    Tigg what did you do?

I do a separate install (using rF Lite) for each mod, just to avoid any such issues ... I probably have 15-20 installs. The only headache is doing all of the initial settings when you install a new mod.

If you want all of your tracks in one place, you can have a "base" install with all of them, then change the config.ini file in each mod install to point to that location.

I tried something like that, Open Wheels in one install, classics in another, prototypes in another and so on. It worked for awhile then I switched PCs and went back to one install for all but the HistoryX mod which demands its own install. I just don't have the patients anymore for all that work, in fact I need to upload my wheel setting to my Megafile so I have them incase I get a new PC or something happens to this install.

Oh yeh, it would definitely get tedious if you were installing a bunch at once.
