Yeah, I just discovered this today, I found the mod like Monday, there's also another page here https://sstrcaraddons.neocities.org/ This mod should be more popular than what it is, same thing with the GT Shift2 mod, both well done even for conversions.
Here is some stock car action at Rockingham. I am the #14 car, the mod is Stock Car Sim Series 2012, and the track is the mods Rockingham.
Running with my teammate.
As you can see, back of the pack, even on 70-75% difficulty. I could not get my car to roll in without jamming on the brakes entering, at least compared to the AI, so I need to work on a setup. I used the default setup that comes with this track, and it is very tight on corner entry, but when you get it slowed, it is not too bad, has good corner exit speed. Also the track seems smaller compared to what I'm used to on Nr2003.
For what I've done so far, oval racing on rFactor is not as bad as I heard, the AI performed well, they did not balls it up with the rolling start, and were fun to race against. The only problems were the track seemed shorter than the Nr2003 version, and the formation lap had alot of starting and stopping, and of course the cool down lap is crazy as normal on rfactor.
All in all, I'd give it an 8/10, not as good as Nr2003, but still very fun, and something different, that still does the job well. Now to learn how the hell to create mods and addons for this game, so I can put my beloved gen4 COY cars in, and I'll be golden (Also learning how to build tracks is on the agenda, since I want to replicate all of the EA sports tracks)
