So I informed the team that I would be taking the Viper back out tomorrow for another 2 hour run to get an acceptable bit of photographic proof...
After they stopped laughing, they informed me that they didn't know if they could make it a racecar again so quickly...

Another game crash...this time 1 hour 20 minutes in...running 3rd in class, a much better showing, still no finish to show...I could just scream....best race of my life...there must of been some huge mess heading into T1 at the start, I got thru but most of the P class and a lot of the GTLM class got caught in it...really just 8 to 11 cars got thru and the rest took half a lap to sort themselves out...leaving me, MicK, Tigg, one P class and a couple other GTLMs along with a bunch of GTD class cars to get away....took the Ps a bunch of laps, 20-25 minutes to come by so easy going for most of the first half hour...
Then we started catching the bulk of the GTD cars and when i got to them that pesky Turner BMW took out my right front tire heading onto the NASCAR and i had to limp it back to the pits to get it fixed....EEEEERG!
Came back out to battle GTDs for 34th, actually got through them by the end of the first hour and they began pitting as did I think everything on the track so I got my lap back and cycled to 18th place...
Started actually having some racing within my class and was having fun, caught up to Mick who was running P14 he slipped badly coming off the NASCAR, enough for me to get under him and get by cleanly. Next was the #62 Ferrari which gave me a fight but I dove under him heading back unto the NASCAR and set my sites on Tigg...took two laps to get to him, just as I did he pitted...????
That put me in P12 and 3rd in class. A Viper and a BMW. The Viper was a nasty fight, that went back and forth I got by in T5 (second Horseshoe) and he got back around as we headed onto the NASCAR again...then the thing crashed...
I don't know if I'll attempt this again, fun as it is...it's no fun to have it not able to finish, I need to sort that out...

Whoo boy.. (nuff said, am I right?) Sooooo.. I decided to run it, with the stupid ai, after Tigg told me how to start the game properly. (ie: Me at the back, field still random)
Anyway, I get going and doing pretty good, other than the usual beating and banging (that knocks a MPH or 2 off your top speed.) But never the less, were having fun, passing cars.. 20 laps in Im up to around 25th IIRC.. Cars start pitting and next thing I know, Im 10th.. Im turning laps, minding my business, only need to move for the occasional Prototype motoring by.. I have all this pretty well sorted out, so Im looking at the clock and it looks like my strategy to pit once is panning out perfectly.. I'll need to run 32 laps, pit and run it out.. So, the time comes and here I come down pit road.. I pull in and it says something like 3 hours wait for repair damage.. Ok, "maybe" it was 120 seconds.. same difference.. But, now I've got a minute to look around, I notice the fuel meter is at like 23 laps.. "Hey, WTF, I setup the car with 32 laps of fuel, so obviously they'll put 32 laps of fuel in it when I pit, no? HELL NO!!!!! Bastards only put in 23 laps worth!!! So, I leave pit road and figure I'm 10-11 laps short.. No biggy right, the other cars pitted before half way so they'll have to be on a 2 stop strategy as well, no? HELL NO!!! Bastards put in enough fuel for them to make it to the end!!! Aaaanyway, the time comes and I have to pit again.. (I was back up to 13th BTW) This time I set the fuel!! (There's like 12 minutes to race, I'll need fuel for 6 laps.. You know the routine) So, I pit and once again, 59 seconds for repairs. And so I wait... and wait, and wait... The cars go ticking by and when I leave, I think I was 39th? Im gutted at that point, want to find the creator of rFactor and beat him/her about the head and neck.. But I go about finishing the race.. Somehow, by the time the "1 minute to race" message pops up, Im in 20th.. (I guess some others had the same pit crew I did?) But my "in race" calculations for fuel have worked perfectly, Im almost out of gas as I cross under the start finish line for the final time. (note: about 2-3 seconds AFTER time has expired) I've got .8 of a gallon left or something like that.. So Im putting around in 5th gear, just to make it back to the pit, but it seems like they're still racing????? The cars behind me in 21st and 22nd are 7 seconds back and closing in.. I ease through the busstop, get back up to speed and run out of gas in Nascar 4.. 2 cars wiz by and I coast across the finish line (AGAIN) in 22nd.. How the heck does it make you run another lap, when you've already crossed the line after time expires?? What..EVERRRR..
And that was how I spent my Tuesday afternoon.. Bring on the next one!!
