Ok, I want to know how everyone feels about the NASCAR racing this year vs last year! Which do you feel is better?

I'll start - Last Year..... I feel the new current rules package has taken the driver out of the car. Whoever can get out front first is going to win... hardly seen any passes for the lead this year, other than Bristol. Ok let the discussion begin... :)

OK I made my point... Pocono race this past weekend. 1 pass for the lead under green flag racing and not on a re-start... 1 or did I count wrong? Thanks

Clean/Dirty air and out front lead has been an issue for years. I'm not sold this package is better, but I think what you see front to back is better than last year.
Kevin Harvick dominated the entire first half of the season last year. Have you forgotten how many races he just completely drove off from the field on?

I think you can find stats somewhere for passes in a race. Again, not sure that proves this year is better than last, etc.

Last year was better for me

The 2019 package is good for 2 laps and then it's just so hard to pass, I really dislike this package, but that's just me.

Kentucky was interesting, but that it mainly because as a shallow dish, there are more than two obvious lines through a corner.

Gen-6 still has the clean air problem; that's mainly because the front end of the car is supposed to be aerodynamically useful. The solution would be to make the front end universally worse? Gen-2 and Gen-3 had a totally rubbish front splitter. That would solve the issue.

If aero is an issue... kill aero?

8 drivers won in 2018; we're already up to 7?

I do dislike this package... I think they are getting closer. They need to dirty the cars up and make the Drivers drive them... of course that what NASCAR wants to avoid, Drivers like the Busch's, Harvick and JJ(old timers) will out drive a young guy any day. They know how to set up a car and drive it.

Anyone think Indy was great? I don't.. I knew whoever got the lead on a restart and the last restart would never get passed... Great example, the 22, was on 35 laps plus old tires and couldn't be passed for stage 1 win... Terrible .
