    I had received some encouragement to post some of the stuff I've made for NR2003 in my introduction thread, so I figure this would be a good place to start.

    This is a NASCAR Legends carset (no, not the video game, like real-life NASCAR legends) I have been working on for two or three years now. Sure it's not the most original idea you could have for a car set, in fact it's been done before, but it's an old idea of mine regardless; it's something that I really wanted to do. Thing is, it's been a very inconsistent effort, which is why it's taken me so long to complete, and why it's still not finished after so long. Due to distractions such as college and just generally trying to move away from the sim-racing scene to take a more illustrative direction with my artwork, it's not something that I've worked on recently. My interest still resides in it, though.

    Out of 45-ish cars that I had planned for the final carset (not actually sure, don't have the list in front of me right now), 34 have been painted. This website won't let me include more than 20 images in one post, so here's an Imgur photo album of every car I've painted for the set so far.

    You'll notice that I've done something interesting with these cars: Instead of having your standard modern-day contingencies, I've made contingencies for each car that match the season they came from. Some of the earlier cars I'd painted had the manufacturer model logos taken off so as to keep it anonymous, but later on I decided against this. For that reason, you might be able to tell which cars were painted more recently.

    Last I had been working on this, I was in the process of painting cars for Lee Petty and Fireball Roberts. If and when I do finish this, I have no idea if I'll convert it over to the upcoming 2017 mod. I will say that a lot of color correction needs to be done on a certain amount of these cars before I release the set as a whole. By the way, if anyone has a Chrysler template for either the Gen6 or BR15 mod, I would very much like to use it for a couple of cars in this set.

    Anyway, I'll finish it...eventually. At my leisure.

    Nice Idea, I'll be looking forward to it

    And Also: Are you expecting to do a Decade Stars Carset (including stars of the 70's, stars of the 80's etc.) for the BR15 Mod?

    No, sir. I did have ideas to do a Racing Rejects carset, though. Essentially it would be the opposite of NASCAR Legends, and would cover all forms of motorsports. :p

    Lol, l already have some ideas for a rejects/bad drivers series

    Pastor Maldonado(One of the most notorious F1 drivers as of recent, despite a win, he is known for wrecking almost Every Other Race)
    Kevin Lepage(When the only notable thing you've done is wrecking the entire field at one race like moron)
    Yuji Ide(Had his racing license taken away after only 4 races due to driving like an idiot)
    Ken Alexander()

    If I do intend to finish this anytime soon, I may alter my list again. I have a number of cars with Chrysler listed as a car make, in hopes that by the time I'd gotten far enough into this set, there would be a Chrysler template available for the BR15 mod. Even if there wasn't, I had been trying to make my own template for the Chrysler 300, but I hadn't gotten very far with it.

    This is a pretty interesting carset but something strikes me as odd.. Why is Paul Goldsmith in a Ford? Smokey Yunick owned that #3 as a Chevy Bel-Air in 1957.

    Goldsmith ran in 25 of 53 races in 1957. In 21 of the races he started in, he ran a Ford.

    When I first painted cars for NR2003 last year, I had painted only one NASCAR-wise: James Buescher ('12 Camping World Truck Series champion) -- for the Cup90 and Dirt55 mods. The others I painted for Cup90 and Dirt55 currently race today--and I also painted a Jimmie Johnson car for the GN63 and Dirt55 mods, too -- but that was when I was learning how to paint.

    Nice work! You have some great cars in there! However, some of the old legends have schemes which are too plain and boring, and they don't have to be. Take Benny Parsons' car. You painted his 1973 scheme, which is just plain red with white numbers. Why not paint his 1977 scheme instead? That is a cool scheme, if you ask me! ;)
