I had received some encouragement to post some of the stuff I've made for NR2003 in my introduction thread, so I figure this would be a good place to start. This is a NASCAR Legends carset (no, not the video game, like real-life NASCAR legends) I have been working on for two or three years now. Sure it's not the most original idea you could have for a car set, in fact it's been done before, but it's an old idea of mine regardless; it's something that I really wanted to do. Thing is, it's been a very inconsistent effort, which is why it's taken me so long to complete, and why it's still not finished after so long. Due to distractions such as college and just generally trying to move away from the sim-racing scene to take a more illustrative direction with my artwork, it's not something that I've worked on recently. My interest still resides in it, though. Out of 45-ish cars that I had planned for the final carset (not actually sure, don't have the list in front of me right now), 34 have been painted. This website won't let me include more than 20 images in one post, so here's an Imgur photo album of every car I've painted for the set so far. You'll notice that I've done something interesting with these cars: Instead of having your standard modern-day contingencies, I've made contingencies for each car that match the season they came from. Some of the earlier cars I'd painted had the manufacturer model logos taken off so as to keep it anonymous, but later on I decided against this. For that reason, you might be able to tell which cars were painted more recently. Last I had been working on this, I was in the process of painting cars for Lee Petty and Fireball Roberts. If and when I do finish this, I have no idea if I'll convert it over to the upcoming 2017 mod. I will say that a lot of color correction needs to be done on a certain amount of these cars before I release the set as a whole. By the way, if anyone has a Chrysler template for either the Gen6 or BR15 mod, I would very much like to use it for a couple of cars in this set. Anyway, I'll finish it...eventually. At my leisure.
