Happy almost new year everyone! I'm Nicholas, also known as Jetman999, and after years of most of my painting being for myself and friends, and years of developing my skills to make actually good and creative designs, I am finally taking the step up in 2021 to create my most ambitious project, and finally share my designs and creativity with the NR2003 community. This comes in the form of the NAPARL Division 1 Stock Car Championship carset for the ICR Mod.

This carset is based in 2022 in a fictionalized timeline for the automotive and auto racing world, where The NAPARL, short for North American Professional Auto Racing Leagues, dominates the North American motorsports scene with their Stock Car series. The series features four manufacturers: Chevrolet, BMW, Nissan, and Holden (which grows into its own International brand in this timeline). They also use Shell fuel and have two competing tire brands in Bridgestone and Dunlop, who are under heavy regulation to prevent the tire war disasters of real timelines and moreso act as brand partners. Most notable, however, is the diversity of the drivers and teams competing. The series isn't just about the United States; It's across North America, and the fictional series driver and team roster features many drivers from Mexico and Canada, plus a few from outside North America. All drivers and teams are fictional and used for creative and entertainment purposes, and any resemblance to real life people or combinations is coincidental. This timeline also sees racing move toward larger markets, as well as more standardized tracks, with the schedule majority road courses and intermediate ovals, with limited superspeedways and short tracks. Finally, the timeline also sees racing in a more 'traditional' sense, similar to the major American sports leagues, though still holding a format very similar to our own timeline's NASCAR and other motorsports. This extends into its pop culture, with racing culture being more popular than real life.

The final carset will contain 35 drivers, all on the ICR mod, as well as a document detailing additional lore, including a 2022 'schedule' and format for those seeking to recreate the theoretical series. Cars are being painted by myself, and @ItsAJG has also gotten involved in providing high-quality renders and being a bit of a creative consultant. I will be showcasing finished paints here naturally as well as some additional information. You can also follow me on Twitter at @jetman_999 to get further updates on this and other ideas, I'll also go deeper into the creative aspects and lore on there.

I of course can't leave the intro empty handed, so here's the three cars done so far. Also note that all number styles have been done 'custom' by me using different fonts and creating skews and outlines myself.

#12 Diet Coke Nissan driven by Nick Valentine, the 2021 NAPARL Champion.

NAPARL12ValentineRender.png

#22 Polaris Chevrolet driven by Rosa Robinson, up and coming female star looking to be the first female champion.

NAPARL22RobinsonRender.png

#6 McDonald's Holden driven by Absolom Garcia, a veteran driver from Mexico who's championship contending days are behind him.

NAPARL6GarciaRender.png

Keep an eye here for more updates as I showcase cars and information as they're made! Once again, thank you to @ItsAJG for helping me make this happen and presenting it well. Follow me on twitter: @jetman_999 for even more updates.

I am back with another set, three new drivers to share!

#67 HP / HP.com BMW driven by Brian Boyer, an American veteran who's career is winding down, but still trying to prove his worth.

NAPARL67BrianBoyerRender.png

#98 Bridgestone BMW driven by Tommy Freeman, a mid-pack Canadian driver who looks set to break through any season now.

NAPARL98TommyFreemanRender.png

Lastly for today, the #9 Southwest Airlines Holden driven by Sean Williamson, a former champion and continuous contender who's the star of the Holden program.

NAPARL9SeanWilliamsonRender.png

I'm also going to be slightly shifting how I do announcements from now on, where I plan to show cars individually as they're made on my twitter (again, @jetman_999) and then head back here for driver information and other general info on progress.

Another trio of drivers incoming, three of the most interesting yet!

First, the #30 Truist BMW of J.J. Hamilton! The 28-year old has a lot to prove in the expanding Norm Leonard Motorsports camp, and is looking for a breakout year out of the midpack.

NAPARL30HamiltonRender.png

Next, the #64 Holiday Inn Chevrolet of Phoebe Iwata. The Japanese-American female is the first rookie to be shown for the series, and looks set to Breakthrough for Breakthrough Racing as one of the rookie of the year favorites.

NAPARL64IwataRender.png

Finally, the #05 Nissan Dealers Nissan of Tomas Mason! Mason, born in the Bahamas but raised in Southern Florida, Mason is one of only three drivers to carry the flag of a country other than the US, Canada, or Mexico, and is set to be the future of the Nissan program as the series's youngest driver in a top team.

NAPARL05MasonRender.png

Also, if you've got a keen eye, you may have noticed the pretty big associate sponsors on the teams with multiple cars. Keep an eye out to see them reappear as a primary soon.

Had a bit of a delay thanks to real life business, but we've got four cars to show off for three new drivers!

First up is Fabio Aguirre, another driver from Mexico who's been a journeyman in the series, but his younger age shows he still has untapped potential, and he hopes to improve the single car Laguna Speed Autosports team.

NAPARL16AguirreRender.png

Next up, Canadian Mark Mickel. The 29 year old is a fringe driver in the series, driving for a backmarker of the series, but he sees something a lot of others don't. Will he surprise the world and prove his worth in a small team?

NAPARL48MickelRender.png

Finally for today, the only driver for now with two paint schemes (one for the US and Mexico, and the other for Canada due to brand differences), Canadian Ben Sexton. Heading into his sophomore season, he's looking like the next big thing. Will he break out into the championship contender many expect, or will he crash and burn in a sophomore slump?

Things are a bit slower for the next few weeks, but a lot more good things are coming, stay tuned!

I'm finally back again! Three new cars and more in the pipeline to show soon!

First up is Michael Gilmore. A long time contender is nearing his career's close, and despite being a midpack driver in a top team at this point, he's still looking for gold and a couple more wins with his long time team and sponsor.

NAPARL5GilmoreRender.png

From a veteran to a young gun, next is Ray Foley. The Michigan-born driver is entering his sophomore season in Division 1 in the just-as-old #60 team. He emerged on the season quietly, but some strong rookie runs in a mid-pack car put him more on the map. Is her a hidden gem ready to shine when given the chance?

NAPARL60FoleyRender.png

And lastly, from a top team to a midpack team to... quite literally the worst on the grid. Finally today is Michael Tenny. Another sophomore driver is running for the laughing stock of the series, James Nickel Racing. Many were surprised by his move to the team, but thanks to a seemingly loyal sponsor, is the hope of growing the team going to be real for once in a blue moon?

NAPARL39TennyRender.png

Great things are coming soon! Hope you all enjoy! As always, first looks on twitter!

I'm back, and I've got room to hopefully act more constantly! Another trio is here from across North America.

First, the Canadian, Xavier Roy, looking to bring veteran presence to the Master Motorsport team and have a late-career resurgance!

NAPARL44RoyRender.png

Next is San Diego's Ricardo Morin! The Holden development driver is in the O'Leary Motorsports ride, and in his sophomore season he's at the back of the pack but fast learning. Will this be a team on the rise?

NAPARL50MorinRender.png

Finally for today (with a mistake we didn't realize until after rendering that I fixed), the Mexican Dillan Saldana! A midpack driver most of his career, he'd had a solid career and stolen a few wins before, and he's hungry for more as he hits the midpoint of his career, especially with a big sponsor deal!

I'm back already because I had some more time! Here's three new cars of three different stories, all single digits this round!

First, is Carson White, who can only be described as the worst driver in the series. Never done anything results wise but he at least keeps it clean and has a loyal sponsor in Kmart on its last legs.

NAPARL7CWhiteRender.png

Next, perhaps the most unique driver in the whole series. Rookie Usamah Nader, born in Saudi Arabia but raised overseas in North Carolina, has emerged on the scene thanks to his unique background and suspiciously loyal sponsor. Despite all the cash though, he is a decent talent, and the singe car Tomas Perez Racing team is taking a chance on him at the top level.

NAPARL3NaderRender.png

Last for today is Lana Walker, one of the most famous and established drivers in the series. Being the first female to win a race in the NAPARL, and having come close to winning the title multiple times, she's in the last few years of her career, but is still looking for a few more wins, and is also set to work within the series going forward, being a part owner of her own team in Breakthrough Racing.

I'm back! Due to some of my inconsistency, I'm probably going to stop doing the trios of cars and just start posting as they come.First looks still on my twitter though.

Next up is the third car for Master Motorsport, the Quebecois, Stephon Panetier! The young driver has a few years under his belt and is finally with a better team, looking to take his career beyond the midpack!

Here's a bold car for a bold driver! Maria Martinez enters her second NAPARL season in the #2 Nissan with high expectations, being last year's Rookie of the Year and looking for a chance to contend for the title this year. The bi-national driver (born in Mexico, racing for the USA) is ready to break out with a bold and fresh scheme to boot!

Great observation. I don't have it entirely fleshed out, but as part of this completely fictionalized world, Holden splits of GM and becomes its own company and grows in a method similar to Toyota of being an exporting powerhouse. It's a fun detail I added as what's technically a factory car to add to it.

The last team that has yet to have a car revealed is the BMW Factory Team, and that changes now! Their primary car is driven by Mexico City's Tupac Badillo. One of the current stars of the series, having won the title two years ago, he's ready to break out to go for #2!

With only a few cars to go, it's time for the Division 1 series's last superstar: Michigan's Shane Wilkerson. By far the best active driver without a championship, Wilkerson is in his peak and is at the top of nearly all the power rankings to go for his title this year.
