One more BMW factory car, this one of Travis Gray, the team's top prospect with a bold, big name sponsor. The Colorado native is a bit of a late bloomer at 26, but looks set to be a title contender once again as he desires to move on up!

The leading veteran of the series, a former champion who couldn't quite make it in D1 but remains atop the D2 level, is Danny Vanhoose. The native of London, Ontario was seen as the man to bring Duke Motorsports to the promised land, and he still leads the team today with their three car lineup! Is it time for D2 title #2?

Saviro Cano is a driver from Saltillo in Northern Mexico, whose career is hanging on a thread. At 28 and still running near the back of D2, he's shown talent to get here but looks set to be a D2 lifer or worse. Is he about to prove haters wrong?

We're approaching the end of the main NAPARL series, with four drivers remaining. In fact, out final four drivers are all from different countries!

First, the final Canadian and perhaps the best Canadian in Division 2 is Daniel Beuregard. The native of Hamilton leads the Master Motorsport team with a big name sponsor, and looks set to be a future star if the team continues their fast rise in Division 1. Are we witnessing a sleeping giant of the NAPARL's future?

The last American comes from the midwestern heart of the U.S., Ohio. Stacy Henderson rounds out a trio of up and comers for Callahan who look set to be future stars. The 22 year old seems to be the least regarded of the three, but she knows she can be the best of them!

The final driver from Mexico and the final rookie is Nico Risendez, a 21 year old from Hemosillo. His hiring was a bit controversial, with many seeing it as an attempt at Franco's to just have another Mexican driver in their lineup, but he has shown potential at the lower levels. Is he a sleeper in the making?

And now, the final main NAPARL series driver, ending with a #12 Nissan with a coke product just as we started! Maxine Bren closes out the roster, not even being a native of the three main countries, instead being a UK native. She's crossed over to racing in the U.S. since it was more interesting to her compared to her European racing family, and has actually shown a lot of potential in stock cars despite her unique background. Could she lead the third R.A.V. car to glory this year?

NAPARL12BrenTruckRender.png

And after 114 drivers, we're done with the main roster. But we're not quite done yet, we still need to release this set and then I'll have an announcement of my next project, which I'll use the same showroom for since it's in the NAPARL universe, plus some alternate paint schemes may be coming to NAPARL as well. I'll have some shots of the full set in action this evening with release info!

Thanks again for all the support in the last year!

Where can you download this set? Right now! Get it here!

I'll be doing a full retrospective I'll be posting here later, but thank you for all the support with this project! As I've touched on, this isn't the end of NAPARL, as I have some extras, but my next project won't be under the NAPARL banner, however I will continue to use this showroom for it since it's another story from the NAPARL universe. It may be a bit til I can show things off from it, but I have more plans in the meantime that you'll see here! Again, check out my twitter @jetman_999, especially since you may see some details there I won't post here.

Thank you for all the support this year!

NAPARL: A Reflection and Year In Review

I specifically targeted Division 2 to release yesterday because, as far as I can tell, today is the anniversary of the day I opened my NAPARL series planning document. In a way, my planning existed long before this. Something people likely don't know is that this is technically the second iteration of the NAPARL, the first being a failed attempt at a community carset from when I was first getting started in NR2003 at just 14 or so. As a college student now, who's been trying to become a freelance designer on the side, I knew I needed to have some sort of cohesion, and a bigger thing under my belt to show my vision and truly be distinct from the rest. A year ago, I realized doing something with the ICR mod gave me my best chance yet to make the NAPARL into what I wanted to be. This time, I took things under my own hands, and made almost all the teams, drivers, events, and lore by myself with a few exceptions to include character drivers from a couple friends of mine. This time, I really did go all out, by making a whole new timeline of all fictional drivers and teams where NASCAR either didn't exist or failed, and a new group took over the growth of stock car racing in North America and took an approach unique to that of NASCAR's. That's not to say I don't love NASCAR, because I do, even with modern changes to the sport, but things always feel best when you do it yourself, and I've never seen anything quite like what I was trying to accomplish with the new NAPARL. In fact, the next project promises to be even more unique than what the first four NAPARL series already accomplished.

I tend to have a focus on narrative in a lot of the things I do, which I've talked about more on my twitter page, and also plan to talk about more when I relaunch my Google site some time before new years. In this case I've created a literal narrative, in the sense of a whole new history of motorsports, and a personal narrative, in the sense that my painting has evolved, and I laid out my own vision of greater diversity in the racing world through my designs, much as I dream of doing in my own work. Again, this is an NR2003 showroom so I won't go on about it for too long, but it is a mission of mine that I hope to achieve through work in the racing world, even if it's at the organizational level instead of the competition level.

I also need to give a pair of special thanks. @ItsAJG deserves a lot of credit for making an ICR render scene in the first place, as well as handling renders for me until I got a new computer earlier in the year, allowing me to render much easier myself. You were a big motivation for completing the project at all as well. I also need to thank @Sonicrules831, who's been connected with me since the days of the original NAPARL, and is also the reason I do many of the paints outside NAPARL things, since he has his own NR2003 projects he doesn't share here as much.

As I touched on before, this isn't the end of the NAPARL. I plan to release some additional content eventually, including special paint schemes and number sets. For the latter, please let me know if there are any in particular you're interested in. More notably is that the next project of mine will take place in the NAPARL Universe as well, so I will continue to use this showroom. I also do have one more thing for this section of NAPARL, but since it's not an actual NR2003 thing, I'm not sure if I'll show it off here or just leave it on my Twitter for people to see, but it will coincide with my Google site relaunch in the next week or so. I'm not entirely sure when I'll be able to show things off with my new project, but I don't think it'll disappoint.

d2promoshot1.png

In one year, I created a brand new stock car racing world. 114 completely original drivers and cars, on new teams with new assets, and an original lore across 4 series. And this timeline still isn't done, even if it's finally the end of the first project in this universe, since I had the four series in mind from the start. There's a lot more to explore, and I encourage you all to make your own narrative, whether based on real life or completely from scratch. The carsets are available to use anyway, so you can even create your own NAPARL narrative with custom cars and schedules. Even if I have my definitive lore for my canon, nothing stops you from being creative. Only you can make something truly yours.

Thank you!

You’ve seen American stock car racing, and now the NAPARL universe goes global: Welcome to the most prestigious racing championship in the world, and the top of open wheel racing, the International Grand Prix Alliance, presented with the 2020 IndyCar mod!

IGPA-full-logo-announce.png

The IGPA was founded in 1968 as a worldwide motorsports organization, merging the two largest organizations for open wheel racing: North America’s Formula Racing Association and Europe’s EuroFormula Racing. Since then, the league has grown into four series with universal regulations and a unique, highly prestigious format that combines motorsports with FIFA. Each of the four regional IGPA series crowns an annual driver and constructors champion, with a world championship held every other year. The world championship alternates between a spec series, national team format, and a best of the best constructors championship, with a drivers champion crowned in each. The 2022 championship, under the constructors format, looks set to be the most dramatic in years. After a United Kingdom nations championship in 2020, held in Brazil, the championship heads to the United Kingdom itself with a chance for a home country drivers and constructors championship. The four regional series will take a Summer break for the duration of the championship series, which is five races long and features drivers and teams based on the results of the previous three seasons.

uk2022-schedule-graphic.png

The constructors championship format takes the top three teams over the past three years from each series, which are equally represented since each are between nine and eleven teams. In addition to the FRA and EuroFormula Championship, the other regional series are South America’s Serie Premier America, and RaceCup1, a Japanese-originated series held across Asia, Oceania, and Africa.

formula-racing-association-logo.pngserie-premier-america.pngeuroformula-championship-logo.pngracecup1-logo.png
To begin, we’ll take a look at one team from each of the series, beginning with the defending drivers’ world champion and the favorite for this year’s world championship series!

barclays-bently-card.png

Barclays Bentley Autosport is led by veteran driver Jude Sanders, fresh off a drivers championship and UK championship in 2020, as well as the regional crown in 2021. The star of the sport looks for his third driver’s title this year along with a third world championship for Bentley, alongside Riley Bren, sister of NAPARL driver Maxine Bren, who’s in her first season with the team after being called up from an affiliate team. Why so? You’ll find out later.

spirit-sebring-card.png

Moving to the American FRA, one of the most historical teams that constantly changes looks is Sebring WGP Team, who’s been primarily sponsored by Spirit Airlines as of late. The team that put their home track of Sebring on the map has been on a downward trend, but looks set to rebound in the coming years with a young pair of Americans: Allen DuCharme and Roy Hage.

tigresport-rappi-card.png

Perhaps the brightest future in Serie Premier America, and in the world, comes from TigreSport Rappi, a fast growing team with the most highly anticipated rookie in the world: Vincente Valentin, who’s expected to go for wins right out of the gate. Alongside fellow young gun Luca Juarez of Columbia, the team could make a run at the next constructor’s title in 2026, set to be held jointly between Germany and France.

7eleven-mazda-card.png

Finally for today, one of the top teams in RaceCup1, and the most popular as a home country team, is 7-Eleven Mazda Motorsport. With a pair of Japanese stars, the team wants to set their drivers up for both a constructor title this year and a nations title in 2024. Umihiko Nakayama is their primary driver and the defending RC1 champion, with Shigeyuki Yasuda close behind.

That’s a wrap for today! 4 teams down, 36 to go! I hope you look forward to learning more about the series of series, run through the 2020 IndyCar mod!

Let's meet two more IGPA teams today, both from the Southern Hemisphere! One is another team running for a world title, and the other is an underdog team still trying to find their footing.

barraclough-gold-coast-card.png

We've seen an all Japanese team in RaceCup1, and now let's look at an all Oceanic team. Barraclough Gold Coast Racing comes into 2022 with the lowest expectations in the eastern series after an abysmal few seasons with high driver turnover. The returning Caleb Luxton, who seems to be the team's sole constant of the last few years as an Australian driver himself, will race alongside Kiwi rookie driver Sammy Baxter. Can the two of them turn the tides before even bigger problems arise, with their sponsors appearing unhappy?

(UPDATE: Later in the process, I realized that I somehow missed RC1 having two #25s. Since Baxter was the lower rated of the two, I have renumbered him to #26.)

mcdonalds-america-card.png

From a team to the bottom to a team near the top, McDonald's America Motorsport has long been in the upper echelon of the South American teams, and the best outside of the two factory teams. However, after being consistently in third, they continue to inch closer to overtaking even their own engine supplier. With a big name title sponsor in McDonald's of Latin America, the Ecuador based team looks to make some noise for their smaller nation in the UK Championships. Driving for them are longtime driver and series veteran Javier Caserez of Argentina and young gun Lucia Costa of Uruguay.

Two more teams are ready to be shown, a pair of midpackers looking to step up in 2022.

amazon-leaf-card.png

The IGPA's only dual-female driver lineup belongs to Amazon LEAF Motorsports, one of the best in the world to not be a qualifier for the world championship. The team looks set to step even farther up the ladder with a big new sponsor in Amazon, adding the light blue colors of Amazon Prime to their famous red and white livery, embracing their name and home country. Their two drivers are veteran Erica Mayers, an Ontario native, and Alexandria Hall, and up and comer out of Rochester, New York.

west-monaco-card.png

Moving across the pond to Europe, introducing West Monaco International. Their unique beige and bronze livery, courtesy of sponsor Hermes, is unlike anything else in any IGPA series. Of course, performance is more important than looks, and the team has been moving up the ladder slowly in recent years, with their Southeastern France shop being one of the most popular in the world to work in. The team seems set to grow for years to come, especially if they maintain their current pair of drivers: the countryman driver, Curtis Lapointe, and Denmark's Jakob Nygaard.

Two new cars, one with many colors and one with only a few! These teams don't have much in common, but what they do share is a hunger to grow the formula racing prowess of their country!

VUHL-guttierez-card.png

VUHL Formula Guttierez is one of the most interesting teams to analyze out of the Formula Racing Association, being practically the 'official' team of Mexico despite being worse than the other Mexican based team, and having been so for years. The team's bright and colorful livery comes courtesy of the Mexican tourism board, along with Mexican-European car company VUHL. The team continues to rebuild with a pair of drivers among the youngest in the series, rookie Virgil Salcedo, a native of Puebla himself, and Indiana's Derek Gagliardi.

kia-lotte-card.png

In comes South Korea, a country rapidly rising in the IGPA rankings, with a pair of drivers on their own team, KIA Lotte Motorsport. However, this is not the only South Korean team. In fact, they're a junior team for Grand Prix Genesis, one of the best in the series, sharing engines and a same home country. While Grand Prix Genesis doesn't currently hold a Korean driver, both of KIA Lotte's have the potential to reach such a level. Busan's Song Jae-Yoon leads the way, a fixture of the team for over half a decade, as he leads rookie driver Noh Dae-Soo, expected to be the strongest rookie in RaceCup1.

Two more teams from very different backgrounds, but both of them are approaching the top of the ticket for the IGPA!

chevy-sudamericano-card.png

The defending Serie Premier America champions are Chevrolet Sudamericano, including the defending drivers champion, Santino Escobedo. The team is the trailblazer for the South American series, being driven by GM Brasil and GM Latin America to market Chevrolet in the region, including fellow international icon Nike as an associate sponsor. The team looks set to capture only the second ever world title for the South American series, heading through this season and the UK championship with Escobedo teaming up with veteran Christo Beserra, who seems to only have a few years left in the tank as he approaches 40.

lees-motor-racing-card.png

Ireland's Lees Motor Racing is one of the newest teams on the EuroFormula grid, but they already look set to take the step up into title contenders in the next few years. Their bright green livery is sure to pop on track, especially with the purple assets brought on by primary sponsor Accenture. As the secondary team to Lamborghini, they have work to do to be a top dog, but they're ready to pounce on the opportunity to elevate from the infield. Driving for the team is Italy's Bianca Lucchesi, who looks set to be the next female star of the EFC, and UK veteran Sam Whitehouse, who's taken on a bit of a mentorship role as he fades from the prime of his career.
