Mock Seasons can be very real and even exciting to those who follow them. The key to this happening is the commitment of the member running the Mock Season.

So weigh your level of commitment BEFORE you open a new thread and start a new Mock Season thread. If your Mock season becomes dormant or is never really started, your Mock Season will end by being deleted. Regular posts are crucial to your Mock Season's success here at Stunod Racing. I would suggest posting some sort of schedule, for yourself as much as for your fans. It'll keep you focused and your Series fan base happy.

So happy Mock Season to all who post here...I know it's a lot of work, but post your screen caps, videos, results, back stories, and everything else that makes Mock Season racing great!

For those who've seen it (and there's a nice amount of views dare I say) I have my 2022 stuff in the projects.

And I'm not letting this go to waste so if something happens and I can't run it I'll try and get someone else too :p

Am I allowed to post a Mock Season thread even though it's with someone else's carset? And if I'm allowed to, would I have to give credit to the creator of the carset?

That is sort of what differentiates a mock season from a sign up series/off-line league. Mock seasons can be freely run without community interaction, and can be alot of fun (and time consuming)

I've never looked at this category before. Cool idea. I had thought of making a mock asphalt Late Model series like used to run in my region. It was called MAARA. They competed at tracks like Jennerstown, Motordrome, Lake Erie and Lancaster ( N.Y ); all tracks available for NR2003. I paint the cars that have ran at these tracks. But, because it's not NASCAR, I'm not sure if there would be any interest from others besides myself.

You'd be surprised how much interest there is in racing beyond NASCAR's big three here...
I might just do it. Need to finish up some cars first. Part of the problem is that asphalt racing is dying in Pennsylvania and surrounding region. Motordrome has been shut down all year and is for sale. Lake Erie only runs a special Modified or Late Model race once a year. Lancaster doesn't have a weekly Late Model division, but hosts the Race of Champion Late Models a few times. And, Jennerstown switched to a crate series, thus putting them on an island by themselves. Outsiders can't run with them now. They're lucky if they get 10 Late Models a week. So, to do a mock MAARA series, I'd almost have to run some cars of guys who no longer run asphalt Late Models, yet used to travel to these big shows. The New York and Lake Erie guys would travel. But, not many from Jennerstown or Motordrome did. They tended to just stick to the local tracks. I'd have to change that to make a mock season. Maybe I'll even throw in my own personal car. LOL

Hey to all of you who are doing "Mock Seasons/Series" and sharing your progress with us here at Stunod Racing, I just wanted to give you a SHOUT OUT! It's a lot of work doing what you do and very much under appreciated by much of the sim racing community. I greatly value you as a contributor to the site here and enjoy your posts very much!

Keep up the good work and let me know if I can help you with anything...

Highbank, a Mock Series Fan!

What if your mock season or league is already 20 seasons in? Like do I just give a recap of the past 20 seasons and then just go from there or what?

OK I just went thru all the series posted in this Mock Series Section and several were very clearly dead...started by members who haven't been in since they started them, or it was the only thing they ever posted, based on their activity. They were deleted. If I had doubt I posted in the series...hopefully the thread starter (Mock Series starter) will respond and we can take them out so we don't have a bunch of dead and dying series in this section.

As many of you know I am a big supporter of these types of series and want to see them kept alive and the section grow. We have to maintain the Mock Series we start or it becomes a joke to those who don't get it...savy? Thanks!
