Yea I’ve tried everything. Changing resolutions helped but the fps was bad on tracks I wanna run. Got a new Ryzen 7 get great fps but still does it. Would love to run that mod but don’t like seeing cars like that. So ol trusty BR 15 for me .Putting me a not very accurate carset together as I’m not good at painting

Slamer, Just a FYI. www.paint-by-rah.com has plenty of base paints with decals for the BR15 mod. Just in case you want to paint a couple of cars for you to use. You will have to register with them.

You guys see if there is a setting for LOD in your vid card control panel, that is the only thing I can think of, I don't have that problem with my Nvidia card, haven't heard of anyone else having it for that matter. You could also check with Alan Harkleroad at SRD, he is the vid card master.

Yea its definitely a lod problem. I had an amd card now I got a nvidia and both was same result. So thinking about it. It may be a monitor problem on my end. Im using a 52 Samsung tv. could be the problem I guess.

I guess nobody has an easy fix for this?? I still can't figure it out. It can't be my rig...

Here's the thing...it probably is your rig. Not in a bad way, but because this game was not made for windows 10 and all the fun stuff we have now. That's why you have to tinker so much.

Hopefully you can figure it out. It took me forever to get mine cleaned up right on my GTX970. For me the patches really helped and then some nvidia geforce tweaks. I'm guessing there is a tweak in your radeon that'll nuke your issue.

That's pretty similar to my older PC, and I didn't have any issues with the MENCS 18 (didn't have MENCS 19 on that rig).
Have you tried a fresh install, and then walking through the steps with the visual updates and the 4GB patch? I hate to suggest that, but sometimes that helps?

Here is a 2020 BR15 carset that I made for myself earlier this year. I used cars from the MENCS 2019 mod, cut and paste to make them fit the template as I'm not a great painter either. If this is not a good thing to post I'm sorry and please take it down but I thought I could help my fellow NR2003 fan. Credits go to all who paint for the MENCS 2019 mod, Bill1947 for the templates and Rick Fosterick for the b-pillar decals.

Just wanted to say, since I still use the BR15 mod cause I like the cockpit view better, this carset is perfect for me, thanks for sharing!

I tried the window mode. It didnt seem to help.
I found this over at Sim Racing Designs. I don't think there is a fix for this.
Yes, hello. I am person who coded mod.
1. If i remember right, the last 2 LOD's are without animated wheels. What you see in the screenshots is what happens to the cars at the furthest 2 distances. Which should be at over 40 metres from the camera unless you're running low graphics settings on the car quality.

2. the lower you go on the graphics settings the lower quality cars you'll get. high starts at LOD1, medium at LOD3 and low at LOD5 (or something like that) which even at medium is a signifficant loss in car quality. Game is from 2003. any PC these days should run it. I tested it with default gasme tracks and some heavy fps revamped ones as well (daytona 2010) . It worked fine with full fields. The track you're showing, broke my game every single time. And that never happens unless there's broken stuff on it or over the top detail that the game can't hande.

3. use the d3d8.dll to improve quality. You can find the file in a youtube link if you look up: NR2003 dx9. All you need is to add the d3d8.dll in your NR2003 folder. Nothing else.No re-shade. That should improve your quality.

4. The reason why the mod is losing quality with distance is to improve performance. The models are pretty detailed and it took ALOT of time to get the game at a playable level without taking too much detail from it. And i did take IMO ALOT of detail from it. MENCS17 should show you how much is missing. I even added textures swapping to lower quality ones with different LOD's to save fps.

*forgot to add: there is no fix to the last LOD unanimated wheels setting. That is something only the person who made the mod can change. and i'm not touching that again.

I read some comments regarding resolution 3840 x 2160
please understand your max resolutuion is subject to the limitations of your monitor along with your vid card
i run in 4k (3840 x 2160 x 32) because I have a 4k monitor I paid big $ for
it can cause frame rates to drop
I changed my (separate install) NFF IR20 mod to run 3840 x 2160 x 16 because I could not generate a high enough FPS to run the mod otherwise
just some tips during trouble shooting these issues

Is it ok that I bring this thread back? I'm having this same problem. I have 2 rigs (1 for me and 1 for wife) and they both have this problem with MENCS19. I'm just at a lost of what to do. Unfortunately I don't know anyone that has a NVIDIA card that I can try. Is there anyone willing to share their player.ini and other settings with me that doesn't have this problem and has a Radeon card?

Setting:
All nr2003 graphic settings maxed except for solar flare
8 car sounds, not 3D
Radeon software version 20.2.2 and 20.11.2

System 1 specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
32gb DDR4 3200
WDBLACK SN750 NVMe SSD
Radeon 5700XT 8GB
Radeon software version 20.2.2
Windows 10 Pro
42" 1920x1080

System 2 specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
64gb DDR4 3600
Samsung 970 EVO SSD 1TB
Radeon RX 6900XT 16GB
Radeon software version 20.11.2
Windows 10 Pro
Triple 50" 4k 11520x2160

Things I've tried:
Every combination of Radeon settings. High and low
Default Core.ini
Windowed mode
XP3 Compatibility mode
Admin mode
DEP disabled
d3d9.dll and the upgraded d3d8to9 file 1.4.0.0
I don't use reshade (ewwww)
tried different shiny.mip

If you read the former comments it has something to do with the Mod it self. LOD's. From what I have seen , only the Mod creator can make the change in the Mod with the LOD's. Kinda sucks. but thats how it goes. Its his Mod.
