Couple of quick notes/Suggestions: On the Bodine Gold car take a quick look at the rear bumper corner in your render. The top of the right side bumper has an artifact. Your gold layer might just need pushed a bit in that area to fill that in. I find those sometimes with my own paints.
Additionally, something I would consider is on your gold base layer ( I am assuming you're using Photoshop... Going into Effects Add noise and setting it to monochrome, then adjusting it to roughly 3% or somewhere in that area. to create the metal flake effect to fit with the awesome gold you got there.

Again just some suggestions. You don't have to do any of it.

Good call. I’m still tweaking the gold right now, I haven’t been able to find something I like. I’ll use your tips and see if that helps!

Continued work on the 1996 set. Here is Bobby Labonte's 1996 Interstate Batteries (Washington Football Team themed) Chevrolet Monte Carlo he drove for Joe Gibb's. This car appeared in the fall Talladega race and to honor Coach Gibb's induction into the pro football HOF.

Continued work on the 1996 set. I've already posted one #19 car, but here is the final polished version. Here is a trio of TriStar Motorsports cars that ran in the 96 season. The first two were drove by Loy Allen jr, and the final was driven by Dick Trickle filling in for the injured Loy Allen after a brutal accident at Rockingham.

Here is today's surprise for y'all. This is Ken Schrader's 1996 Olympic inspired Budweiser Chevrolet Monte Carlo he drove for Rick Hendrick in the summer of 1996. He finished 8th twice (Loudon, and Daytona) in the 5 races he sported this, to be frank, ugly paint scheme. And yes, the Quaker State logo was that big on all three Hendrick cars. Illustrator has helped me a ton on putting out some high res logos for these cars!

I’ve had quite a few people reach out to me about my 1996 set. Dr. Noise’s set is truly a great set, and I’m gonna have a ton of fun racing with it, and you all should too. Some people have said my set is no longer needed, to which i say, the more the merrier. We have two 1997 sets, we have 100,000 sets for the original mod, so why not an extra 1996 set?! Painting and NR2003 have become a huge part of my free time, which I’ve sunk almost a year into this 1996 set, and yes, I will be releasing my own version. Not to compete with the new set, but because I’m proud of my progress as a painter, and all the hard work I’ve put into learning illustrator and photoshop over the last two years and I’m not going to stop my work. So you will be getting another carset for the 1996 season, and if you have an issue with that my DM’s are always open :)

Man, I'm very glad to hear that. It would be a real shame to pour so much effort into this and not see it through. I'm still following your progress!

You should be proud of your progress mate. Your skills have grown a lot in quite a short time, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have more sets out there. The more 90s the better I say.
