@Jacob_chastine
So I hear you making Cocoa Beach from NASCAR Thunder 2002, I yesterday I made a list about ALL the fantasy tracks from EA NASCAR games.

NASCAR 98:
Ranch Tower
Suzuka (it's a real track)
Cedar Woods
Pine Ridge
Willow Lane

NASCAR 2000:
Arkansas Speedway
Dakota Raceway
Lakeshore Raceway
Salt Lake Speedway
Seattle Motorsports Complex
Big Sky Raceway

NASCAR 2001:
Proving Grounds
Dustbowl
Treasure Island
Mile High
New York
4th From The Sun
Southern

NASCAR Thunder 2002:
Cocoa Beach (which your working on)
Devil's Canyon
Daytona Beach (same as Suzuka)
Boca Chica
Albquerque

NASCAR Racing 2 & 4:
Bullrun
Red Rock

That's pretty much it, I got more but I thought it's WAY TOO MUCH. But I love the way you make the tracks, KitsuneAmy ;)
Seattle Motorsports complex and the Dustbowl bring back memories. I can still hear that hum from NASCAR 2000

If anybody was curious about the Nascar 2000 tracks, I took a screenshot of each for reference:

In other news I remembered Test Track Infield from Forza Motorsport exists, basically FM's equivalent to GT3's Complex String. I made it a long time ago for Gran Turismo 6, and I'd like to do it again for NR2003.

I like Salt Lake Speedway. All of your tracks have looked great. Do you think that it would be possible to make the Chicago Pier from Nascar 09? I love that track!

So, I'll tell you, and everyone else what Nascar games I have played.

Nascar '98, Nascar '99, Nascar 2000, Nascar 2001 (PS1 and PS2), Nascar Thunder 2002 (PS1), Nascar Thunder 2004, Nascar 2005 Chase For The Cup, Nascar 2006 Total Team Control, Nascar Dirt to Daytona, Nascar Heat, Nascar Heat 2002, Nascar Racing 1999 Edition, and finally, Nascar Racing 2003 Season.

Notice what isn't there among these... that's right, anything newer than 2005. Generally if it's newer than 2003, I don't care, because after that year they changed the points format to be focused more on winning races rather than finishing consistently... well, that and in the years after 2003 the drivers I grew up knowing slowly started retiring, which brought a bunch of new guys in I didn't know or care about.

I looked up the track and it looks beyond my skill level, being a city circuit it would require a lot of buildings and other assets I don't have. And, being from a game I haven't played, I don't have much interest, sorry...

In other news, I've been putting together a lengthy list of changes I'd like to make to existing tracks, and updates should be rolled out for each as time passes.

I have to say I am very happy to see you updating these tracks and all. My only wish is that the cameras get better spots. Not sure what's intended and what isn't, but some are fine, but others could use moving.

Otherwise, I am very pleased with what you have done.

The only changes I have made to all camera files are pit lane camera 1 and 2. Outside of that, I really don't understand camedit enough to change the TV and spectator cameras.

I've tried to learn myself, but it involves a LOT of trial and error. I'm sure if you ask, someone could lend a hand.

Question: where do you get the TSO files?
I borrow them from existing tracks. For instance, if you see an object you want for a track you're building while racing, you can unpack that track's DAT file (with winmip2) and put the object and its associated mips into your building materials for sandbox.

So, I think Trial Mountain is the next GT road course I'm going to make. I've gotten requests for Deep Forest and Autumn Ring as well and I'll keep them in mind for the future. I'd like to ask you all to make suggestions on improving existing tracks right now as well, as I usually get carried away having fun making new stuff while the old stuff goes for a little bit before I get to making an update for it.

10/24 11:25 pm edit: Included progress update.
10/25 6:45 am edit: Expect to see the beta later today or tomorrow, everything's looking good so far!
10/25 8:36 am edit: Everything is done except TSOs, it's bed time now so I'll do it when I wake up.

Now that the beta for Trial Mountain has been released, I'll soon begin on working on the next track I have lined up, Deep Forest Raceway.
10/27 1:26 am edit: Finished laying out track and textures.

Sooo... it's been a while, hasn't it? I don't know if I'm back yet, but I burnt myself out and took a nice, long break. By all means, I was never forcing myself to work on anything I've made, I enjoyed every second of it, but I got to a point where I was doing too much at once in such a small amount of time. Hopefully I'll be back to work on bringing you guys more tracks soon, but that's an update on my activity here for you.
