Hey guys, I finally was able to start creating a livery in PSP9, but I can't insert a logo for some reason. I've made sure it's a .png, but whenever I try and open it, a new document is opened and I have to re-open my livery. Any ideas to help?

No.
I would assume that a .png is an end file and not useful.
Layers exist is PSD files and ongoing projects also do. Besides which, you want to export to .tga when you're finished at any rate.

All PNGs are useful for are creating assets; which then go up to make the final thing.

Is there any tutorials to insert a file like this into a paintjob?Alliance.png

When you make the tga, you need to move it or save it to the export/import folder in the game, then you need to go into opponent manager and create a new car file for the make of car your paint is for. Then import that tga onto this car.
Another word of advice, try to search out forums at several sites, this question has be asked and answered several times, a little research goes a long way. OR, you could find the manual that came with the game and look it over, it explains all this stuff and more, it's out there, have seen it, just don't remember where off the top of my head.

You can also use WinMip to create carfiles without having to go ingame. This offers a little more editing ability but is also more complicated than just importing into the game. As for your initial question, some files cannot be moved onto a layered file simply because of their formatting. As you discovered, cutting and pasting is the way to go in those cases.
