Are you making the old Indianapolis roval? This will be really cool to see 2009 or 2019 cars on Indy 1909!

If I can work out how the bounciness of something like Lakeside or Bonecrusker works, then a lot of Indianapolis might be a re-skin of whats already in game.

Bump maps. Warning, though, those only work on asphalt, concrete, and paint surfaces. I don't know about rumble strips or train tracks.

For reasons that are still not yet known to me, the default Indianapolis doesn't unpack nicely to allow Sandbox to look at it.
The unpack took in WinMip unpacks it and even after fiddling, it still doesn't open.

Unpack the shared.dat and copy+paste the contents of the unpacked shared.dat into the folder you're working in. Don't overwrite anything.

I have a feeling that in order to get this track to feel authentic and worth using, it might be a lot more work than you're expecting it to be. A simple re-skin won't really look accurate, because there's a lot that's changed.

There just aren't a lot of old timey TSOs that people have made for NR2003, are there?
People want the latest and greatest; not the wobbly-wobbly old-timey-wimey.

Also, there aren't a bunch of photographs from the first 20 years or so; certainly none in colour. It's hard to know what colour the bricks of the brickyard are.

Augh. Why can't I get my X-sections to remain at 12° ? I have a wobble and no matter what, they revert to 3.9°.
I've tried locking and unlocking the geometry, deleting and inserting new X-sections but alas, to no avail.
Oh howl, howl, howl. Cry 'havoc!' and let slip the dogs of war.

This now has period style grandstands; with roughly an idea of where all the trees are. I had to guess at the colour of the bricks in the Brickyard.

This is looking towards turn 1.

I'll take "things I never would've expected to see in NR" for 1000, Alex!
Unusually large and derived from the Old English "hoo" , meaning "high" and "hill".

The 36" strip of bricks currently at the start/finish line are the only leftovers from when the track was completely covered in bricks in 1909. So they should be red brick like these. Hope this helps.

The colourised photographs that I have seen mostly indicate that the bricks might have been blonde in the main. Kodachrome didn't come out until 1935 which doesn't help either.

The bricks were very dusty and made the track very hazy at times, according to one of the books I read. I don't think you would be able to get the correct color of brick, as long as you make the surface dirty(?) The progress looks great though

Since then I've been looking at loads of photos.
The Pagoda didn't arrive until 1913 for instance (which is nice).
