I bet we'll do that down the road. I think the idea is to get the guys who don't run road course involved, throwing a track that has a ton of left and right handers might scare them away, plus the length, L.R. is just a mile long, where R.A. is what 2 and a half. Things like that scare non-road racers away.

OK Now I intend to leave Round 1 open so others can lay down their laps as they wish and those whom have already posted laps, can go back and take another shot....

So I had this thought, perhaps we ought to run the oval stuff in NR2003 and maybe jump to other sims for the roadie stuff? Obviously there can be some mingling of those disciplines and sims but for the most part...I am curious to see if we get more participation if we run some oval mods in NR2003....

Thoughts folks?

If we do ovals no speedways or super speedways, tracks a mile or less are a real test of setup and driving skill.

If we go to other sims for road courses, we need to find out if most people have the same sim, at least I think it'd be more far, some tracks are faster in one sim then another depending on how the maker set it up.

I was thinking on doing short tracks as a set of laps and totaling say 3 laps in a row for the time. Idea being that you have to sustain 3 laps in a row, sometimes that is more difficult...a total of the 3 lap times as the mark to beat...

How's that sound?

That sounds good, I was just thinking, if you want to add a speedway in there Atlanta default or BR are still tricky to get around, unlike so many new versions coming out you still have to play with the gas and brake to get around them.

So I created a new section for the Hot Lapping threads....I'm thinking eventually folks can start their own sim/mod/track combos and post a lap and any one who want tos to throw down a lap in the thread can do that. BUT for now and to get this established as "a thing" in our community I'll manage it...

I'll need to set up some posting guidelines before folks can start their own threads so we can have uniformity and not a mess...

I agree, for the first couple of months you run the show or else it will be a hot mess.

Very nice idea Highbank! Thanks for bringing it up and the efforts to make it happen. I'm in as long as you stay on NR03 and roadies. Ovals mostly sugg on my side with keyboard, unfortunately, pity.

I'm going to let you guys in on my inner discussion I had when Highback started this. I'm going to treat this like online racing with fixed set ups and whether, ie. usually the fast set that comes with the track and fixed default whether. It's a true test of skill, since changing both changes the way the car handles. Of Course you guys don't have to do this, I just like challenging myself.

What is fixed default weather? Was wondering what settings should be used. I always use the fast setup, have never made a setup in my life, wouldn't know the first thing about setting one up.
