For my Redline GTP Hot Lappers, I just placed a link in the Downloads section for just about any GTP track you may ever want or will need for out Hot Lapping. So here's a link to that link....

They aren't as quick as the real one, but they are fun to drive. Between the Formula Vee and these, we could have a lot of hot lapping fun.

I think since this isn't supposed to be a competition we should treat this like olds school NASCAR qualifying, but instead of getting 2 to laps to run your fastest lap, you get 10.

Just an idea.

When I have done them I generally try to make 10 laps. It also gives your tires a chance to warm up.

Not a challenge request per say, I'll leave that up to Highbank, but how about this for some fun. Be sure you have a clean pair of shorts handy and that the kids are out of the room.

Sim: GT Legends
Track: Nordschleife Tourist (part of NoS2007 Version 2.21 Final)
Time: 13:00
Vehicle: GTC-TC-76 (stock vehicles only)
Difficulty: Professional (hold on to your butts)
Setup: Default with a full tank of Petrol but your allowed to adjust Steering Lock, Brake Bias and Tyre Pressure.
Laps: Unlimited - but see if you can get to around the 9 minute mark in under 5 laps total.

The reason for the minor Setup Adjustment is for those with older wheels and pedals or those even using a controller. A 15.0 degree Steering Lock on a 270 degree wheel (like Tigg's Momo) is touchy on the Professional difficulty as well the brake pedals on the older wheels sets just can't compete with the feel of a more modern set, especially those with a load cell.

I've done that the '70 version in RF with a Chevy Cobalt took me about three weeks to cut an under 10 minute lap, I've thought about doing it with other sims on my own, it's so many turns to learn, thank the maker it's not Targa Florio, LOL!

Just an FYI post....

I didn't post new HLCs today to give folks a chance to catch up a bit...bunches of HLCs are up for everyone to run...so have fun, try new mods, different kinds of tracks, expand your Sim Racing experience with GTP, Dirt, Road Racing, etc...

I'm ruined....

I just reinstalled Project: CARS to take a look at the Willow Springs in the sim...

OH BABY!

I forgot how lushious the graphics are in the thing...it's just so nice...I see why the kids are all nuts for the newer sims and how photorealistic they are...do I have to have that? NO! But it is another world.

The feel isn't bad at all in PCars either. I took two laps in what is very reminiscent of the rFactor trainers, the little open wheel thing.

Now because I hadn't done anything but a quick wheel set up the driving line was on and of course that's the line the ai car follow with malice...

Folks just don't really appreciate NR2003's ai until they spent time in other sims. the NR2003 ai is very respectful of your line and car for the most part. NOT absolutely ALL the time but really you can trust it. That is not true in most other sims.

Still even though they weren't really running the absolute best line for Willow Springs our paths inevitably crossed so set up passes was very important, first you drive behind them a bit, a lap or two and see how they run that line then you plan you route around them. That way toy can avoid them getting tangled up in your wheels...open wheels are not stockcars...bumping and banging doesn't generally end well for all parties involved.

I'll run a Driver's Choice Hot Lap and post a video later today...

Yes the PCars series is a really nice looking game no doubt, but that AI. I've had many a words with Ian about the "all show and no go" aspect of the original PCars and also when PCars2 came out. Granted the 4th patch for PCars2 helped a lot but it still needs work. I enjoy the PCars series for what it is but still go back to the older Simbin titles for my racing fix. Something just feels right with them.

Funny too as Ian was involved with both GTR2 and GTL as Project Lead and Doug was the car Physics guru back then for those titles and now the PCars series.
