Hi, I have attached a couple of pictures to show what I'm talking about but I am having a problem with getting the shadows from cars on track to work with a couple of mods. I can't get the shadows to work with the Hobby Stock mod or the Classic LM mod. The shadows work OK with my other mods. I am using cts physics and the exact same setup in both of these pictures and the same track, original Daytona. Maybe someone can explain this. Thanks.

OK, I have uninstalled Nascar 2003 and installed two separate installs, one for older cars and one for newer cars. The shadow problem has gone away so I really don't know what caused it but it's OK for now.

No problem, I want to thank you guys for helping me and telling me about places to go for info on Nascar 2003. I am amazed at what all can be done with this 16 year old mod. Than goodness I have time to read and learn about what all can be done.

What fixed it is that you're CLM installed NR2003 game doesn't have enable_ShadowVolumes set to 1 in the player.ini. Having Shadow Volumes set to 1 (on) causes the shadows with the CLM mod to act like in the picture. BUT, you'll have terrible framerate if you just do Shadow Volumes off, but MegaShader on so the way to fix it is
1) turn both enable_shadowvolumes and enable_carmegashader to 0 (off)
OR you can run both megashaders and shadowvolumes on (which does improve game framerate for me) and do method 2) steal a make_a_gns_shadow.3do file from another GNS mod and put it in the CLM series folder

I had the same problem, so I ended up copying the make_a_gns_shadow.3do from my regular GNS folder and it seems to have helped.

OK, thanks for the response but when I installed Nascar 2003 I never changed anything in the player files and the shadows were fine on the CLM and Hobby Stock mods. Then all of a sudden I started having trouble with them. Maybe it was because I changed the physics to CTS on both mods, I don't know. Anyway when I made two separate installs for old cars and new cars the problem went away and now the shadows are fine. Thanks.
