With all the new graphics on tracks, i have changed the quality with very clean graphics, it works good with the 1024 cars, but with 2048 cars the game gets real choppy, to fix this what Graphics card would i have to upgrade to fix this? and i noticed painters experimenting with i think like 4000 graphics?
Thanks
AJ

What card do you have now, I have an older Nvidia Geforce 680 w 2GB mem., runs just fine once you get everything else set properly. Everything maxed out, 43 cars, start in back, latest eye candy tracks, run good.

This game don't like all the new vid drivers, you have to be careful which ones you use. I'm using 350.12 or something to that effect. Doing a render right now, so I can't look for sure.
You should be able to run balls out max everything.

No, that card is good, I'll take some screens of my settings in the am and you can try them. How much ram is on your card?
Did you also install the Nvidia control panel with your new card?

OK, what I would do is go to nvidia site and see if you can download the 350.12 driver, I know it works with the game, get the control panel stuff also. We're gonna get you running like a scalded dog.
You have enough vid card memory. 4Gigabytes

I couldn't find it on the nvidia site, so let's try working with the driver you have, next question to be answered, do you have the nvidia control panel, should be part of your driver package.
Right click on your desktop and a box should pop up, the control panel is located in the list.

OK, I'll post my settings for the game in the Controll pannel only.
Hold off on these until I get more screens up.

For some reason, my screen captures are all black in the game, but the replay capture is good....I'll have to write down my game settings in the options menu.
Starting at top left here's how mine are set:
directX=d3d
1920 x 1080 x 32
high
medium
high
all
low
high
ahead 42
in mirror 42
drawing dist.= 100%
FOV= 78.00
gamma: 1.00
now on right side, your choice till you get near the bottom...
lighting = track lighting & shadowing checked only
shadows = from cars checked only

Here are my .ini files, make a copy of yours and save in a safe place just in case these don't work for you. Also place the d3d8.dll file in your nascar 2003 root folder., same place the ini files are.
Use my ini files to change yours, you just can't put mine in your machine because some of the settings you got are to your machine only, mine would not cross over to yours.
Carefully go down the list in each one and compare mine to yours, see what is different.
If you don't like any of my settings, you'll have your back up copies in your safe place to copy back into your game.
