Just got back into NASCAR sim racing and have finally got NASCAR 2003 working with the mods. Running a Dell XPS with 2 gigs of ram and a 128 mb graphics card. I know a new graphics card will help a lot. Any suggestions. The game runs pretty good right now but cannot turn the graphics all the way up. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Jerry. I was trying upgrade without spending more than the computer is worth. It is over 10 years old but once I added RAM is seems to be running the game ok but with limited number of cars. If I crank the graphics up it will run but then can't even go a lap around the track without it freezing or bogging down. I am not extremely knowledgeable on what cards will work with what system. Any suggestion on a 1 GB card for XP in the < $50 range? Thanks.

You did not say what card slots you have available. Does this computer have PCI-e slots or do you only have PCI?

I am not absolutely sure a better video card would help with only 2megs of ram in the machine. There are several 1 meg and even 2 meg graphics cards available for under $50 but they are all PCI-e.

Thanks again. The specs I looked up say it has PCI express x16 interface. Hope this helps. Not sure if it was a typo but I have 2 gigs of RAM rather 2 megs. I can add two more gigs of RAM if you think that would help also. I will post the type video card that is in it now when I get home and check. Thanks again.

Sorry, I made a typo... I meant 2GB.

Anyway, if I am not mistaken, Dell uses Intel processors so the video card best for Intel CPU is NVIDIA.
Here is what I found that fits your budget and should work great. Which ever one you decide on, I would recommend one with a fan.

You really should also upgrade the ram. 1GB and 2GB modules are really cheap right now... (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...NE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007611 601275372 601275371 )
If you have no clue as to what your computer uses, just PM me with the Brand, Model, and/or model number and we can go from there.

Thanks so much. I added two 1GB modules a while back and it helped a lot as far as running the game. I still have two slots open so I will add two more 1GB modules which should max out the system and update graphics card. If the RAM is as cheap as last time maybe able to get all of it for under $50. I forgot how much fun the good NASCAR games were until I was able to get this one up and running with some mods. Spent a lot of time on NASCAR 1999 and NASCAR 3 many years ago. Thanks for all your help.
