After the recent truck design controversy, I think I owe everyone here an apology. I never planned on it happening, but one of my friends did something he shouldn't have and it tempted me to do it. so what did I do? I used the base he sent. turns out it was really a rah base, and that news just hit the fan this morning. it was really the base to Fontaine's Pro-Matic truck from Martinsville last season, which the community has pointed out. I have talked to BMR and to AM Racing via FB and email, and they're letting it slide. Bill is giving me an opportunity to redeem myself with the K&N schemes, and I couldn't be more grateful this massive mistake didn't end the opportunity for me. from now on when doing work for real teams, I've learned to use my work and only my work, and that bases are a big NO NO. once again huge apologies to every person of the stunod community and every nr community. I look to use this as a lesson learned, and use it to grow my painting skills in the future. once again sorry to everyone.

i'd also like to thank @Highbank and @ti2blegrr for talking to me when I needed it the most. you guys helping me through that was and is much appreciated. in no way was I intending to ruin your guy's days. this has also taught me to think a lil more before doing something. if I woulda said no to the base, this whole controversy could've been avoided

yep. I know everyone's heard the quote, "you live and you learn." and that quote Tigg requires learning from mistakes. i'm doing just that as a painter.

Rob, can't commend you enough for the way you went about this. You could have held this under, waited for the excrement to hit the fan, and BMR come to you about it. Instead, you confronted it head on, and went straight to AM and BMR to explain what had happened. Best of all, you'll get another chance with their K&N team. Excited to see what comes from this.

Also talked to original designer of the scheme as well. Glad I could sort this all out and make a new friend in the process 19talk.png 19talk2.png 19talk3.png 19talk4.png

but the main lesson I can say I learned, that really applies to anyone who gets an opportunity like I did, no matter the team, level they work on, or any of that. don't use bases. learn to paint yourself. a quote I turned into a desktop background for my pc was something @Highbank told me when I thought about stopping painting all together and dropping the brush: "you can't put down a brush you never picked up." I hope this quote inspires more people than just me to do their own work, and use it to drive themselves into career oppurtunities.
