so I have noticed that certain mods like the 2018 mencs and 2000s have their superspeedway alternatives. I know that requests probably aren't for this area but i was wondering if someone could make a superspeedway front and rear bumpers for the cars. i think this would be cool because it would allow for the cars to ACTUALLY BUMP DRAFT. you can achieve this with locking bumpers and fixing the Chassis grip to 0.01. also paints would need to be altered to match the bumpers but you just need to color match it.

It is a really cool idea but unfortunately it probably isn't ever going to happen.

First, this would entail either the original mod makers making edits to their existing models (if they still have them) or having to create a whole new mod from scratch. It is possible this could happen but it is unlikely.

Second, in NR2003 the mods do not change the physics of the car. This is another major difference between NR2003 and many other modable racing games. CUP, GNS, CTS, and PTA physics all stay the same no matter what the model looks like. If you need proof, look to Mystical's almighty cube mod. In other words, bump drafting and locking bumpers would not change just because the model changes.

I hate to dash your dreams, but that is the reality of this game.

if you look at the br12 or cup11 mods the bumpers are able to lock with the right INI. i do understand most of this but the physics wouldn't really need to change.

OK, that is fair, but you wouldn't need a whole new mod to do this, you could do it with any mod. The models themselves have no effect on the environment other than to move across the drivable surface and crash, all the other effects like wind, setup, grip etc are based on track settings, game settings, and what can be configured within the limits of the physics (car setup).

Maybe some day in the future someone will make a superspeedway version of the Gen4 bodies, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it, but making a mod is difficult, so someone with a strong desire to specifically make that mod would have to do it.

Years ago, there were a couple of screenshots of such a mod in testing that made the rounds but it never came out. I also happen to have started one for my ARCA models that are sitting in a very crude not-even-half-finished state
