Font id (2001)

Hi,

any ideas what font is used for JAMES DEAN on the hood? It's a car Johnny Benson drove for MB2/MBV motorsports in 2001.

I hate searching for fonts where serif vs non serif doesn't really apply, not sure what the other font styles are called lol.

There's no way in Hades that that is a font. That's some good old fashioned scribble lettering.

You might want to get out your paint program and use a freehand brush to do this.

Thanks guys, here's how it came out. Still trying to decide if the black line bothers me enough to fire up nrstretch lol.
(car ran at Indy with no short track grills, not sure if they ran it on another track)

Looks good, one suggestion though... make the Valvoline outline Darker blue

Good point, I think I got tricked by pics of the diecast where it looks very light blue but it should be darker. That'll be a project for tomorrow, about to let the troublesome cat out to the others and he needs constant supervision lol

I tried nrstretch too but it wasn't significantly better so I decided to keep the black line I had.

Next one is the #93 Mac Tools car that Blaney ran one race. The tricky part is that the proposed layout found at jayski and the diecast pics I've found has a different sponsor on top of the trunk compared to this pic of the real car. According to Jayski it was supposed to run Bristol but wrecked in practice so instead he ran that scheme at Richmond, could be some local Richmond company? To me it looks like ****** & Lee Supply Co, Inc. but so far I haven't found anything on google.
I'm painting cars I'm missing from 2001 so if it's already been done I have no problem dropping it lol

To me... looks like 'Jones & Lee Supply Co, Inc.' which is based in Knoxville, TN.

Is this available to download? I've been compiling all the 2001 cars I can find into one big file and I'm pretty sure the only major ones I'm missing is this one, the #12 Sony/Vega, the #44 Petty, and that #93 you're attempting from Richmond! The scheme looks great!

I felt an urge to do some work on the tracks I have in progress so car painting has slowed down a bit. I found another pic of the #93 with another logo on the trunk so I lucked out there lol

#10 Maxlife - black base with an insane amount of red and yellow "flames" on the sides
#17 Dewalt PBR - should be an easy enough dewalt car but I haven't found the font used for World Challenge in the PBR logo on the hood
#21 USAF - finding the exact pic of the planes they used for the car isn't all that easy. I've found close ones tho.
#26 Shrek - haven't searched yet but much like the #21 it's never easy finding exactly what they used.
#36 US flag base with some M&M's on it
#36 Snickers Cruncher - mentioned in another thread here somewhere
#40 Kiss - same as #26
#43 Honeynut cheerios - haven't had any success finding the exact images of the bee (buzz?) used on the car
Some of the Looney tunes cars (#5, #30, #55)
Not one of these cars is something you put together while watching a bad movie on youtube with a few cold ones so I can see why if they haven't been made

Yeah, Slip has been able to get the program to work and release some great chroma paint schemes.

Here's what i have from your list, I can't remember where I found some of them, the #5 is the wrong color and has a Nextel logo, but it is the correct scheme design???
The #10 was made by Griffdawg for his One More Spark series, as was the #21, the #26, the #36 4th of July (I think), the #40, the #43, & the Looney Toons cars, but the #30 has Kevin Harvick's signature and rookie stripes on it since his thing was a what if? series. I think the #36 Snickers came off of Nnracing but I can't entirely remember!
