Today's roster of cars focuses on teams primarily from the back end of the grid.

2006 Dave Blaney Caterpillar - Bill Davis Racing Dodge Charger
22 Dave Blaney Caterpillar.png
Dave Blaney would move from the Childress camp to return to Bill Davis Racing, in which the team had fallen by the wayside since the Buckeye Bullet last drove for the organization. Despite this, he would actually preform pretty admirably, doing what he couldn't in RCR equipment and scoring a top 5. Qualifying wise Blaney fell from a 23.4 to a 28.3, but finishing wise he only ended up with a .3 average finish difference between the year prior.

2006 Micheal Waltrip NAPA Auto Parts - Waltrip-Jasper Racing Dodge Charger
55 Michael Waltrip NAPA Auto Parts.png
The first year of full time owner driving for Micheal Waltrip was a travesty to say the least. 4 DNQ's, no top 10's, and only 4 top 20 finishes at all. This would be the beginning of the end for the younger Waltrip's full time career.

49 Brent Sherman Serta Mattresses - BAM Racing Dodge Charger
49 Brent Sherman Serta.png
One of your ROTY Contenders, Brent Sherman brought funding to BAM Racing, but ultimately would end up ruining them. The team went from 2 straight years of being in the top 35 with the veteran Ken Schrader to DNQing races in the matter of the first 6 races, and Sherman would get the boot after Talladega. The team never truly recovered from falling out of the top 35, and by 2008 would fade into obscurity, only attempting a handful of Daytona 500's after that.

37 Mike Skinner Blank White.png
After dropping Chad Bount post Daytona DNQ(Despite having supposedly signed a full season deal) the Gunslinger was called in to run the #37 car, to little success. Skinner would post 3 straight DNQ's early in the season at Vegas, Atlanta, and Bristol, would return for Indianapolis with a top 20 starting spot, and then DNQ the second Bristol race.

I've done some more work on my 3d models, cooking up a proper Camaro body from the Cup2000/NASCAR Thunder 2003 Pontiac.

First up is based on Sterling Marlin's Coors Light car, a mix of 1999 and 2000.

Next up is an obscure scheme, The Tracfone machine driven by several drivers in 1999, here represented by Jeff Green

Here are More Team SABCO Cars to add to the pile

First Ted Musgrave's Channeloock car, one of 3(!) full time Busch teams in 2000 (which dropped to 2 after Irwin Jr's death)

Can I ask: where are those base schemes from? I'd always hoped for a BGN 2000 carset on the Cup2000 mod.

Back with another random paint, this time feeling out a potential fictional universe again.

#51 James Dennis Allen - Canton Auto Repair/Bradley's Signage - Chevrolet Lumina

I used a random color pallet generator to come up with colors for the scheme, and it ultimately spit out John Deere-esque colors. But with this supposed to be a Winston West/Busch North style series, I came up with fictitious sponsors for the car to represent local companies sponsoring the car.

Here is my first proper Cup98 paint in AGES: What If StarCom Racing existed back in 1998?

00 Quinn Houff Star Com.png
This was a fun car to do, as I custom made a era appropriate logo for the sponsor, which was an enjoyable thought experiment. Put Quinn Houff in the car because why not? The contigs are placeholders that came with the template, and likely will be replaced.

If this team actually ran in period, it likely would be a frequent DNQ, especially in their first season considering how poor they were in 2017. Probably at best no better than say the ISM Tobasco ride or Joe Falk's #91.

"When The Job Gets Tough, GO TIGER!"

I've slowly been trying to get into the headspace to dive into game development, and as such have been slowly working on various "assets" that may or may not be used.

One of the major things if I were to develop my own racing game, would be the fact that I couldn't use real sponsors due to licensing reasons, and as such have to come up with my own brands. And out of that came an idea prompt I cooked up while I was getting ready for bed.

60 Tiger Tools W.I.P.png
This was a fun project to work on, and is probably one of the best implimentations I have ever done for a fictitious company. The design falls along my primary design philosophy: simple, bold, effective. Not too much clutter or detail, but easily recognizable and eye catching.

The Hood logo originally had text planned below, but the logo itself filled out space so nicely I decided to let it stand loud and proud, front and center on the hood.

The Side Tiger also went through a few revisions, with it originally being alongside the Tiger Text, with the text cutting into the tiger head. This eventually changed to have the head fill the space between the front of the rear tire and the number, while shifting the text backwards in the process.

The number is plain and simple Impact, nothing extraordinarily unique there, just a clean font that's not offensive on the eyes.

I will eventually change the Dodge branding and Contigs to something non-trademarked later down the road, but for now I think this car is done.

I've decided to work on fictionalizing/debranding the template a bit earlier than I planned, mainly because @Rob D. sent me a page of fictional decals and it inspired me to go forward with the project.

And thus what was once a Dodge Charger, has now been transformed into the Vantage Mongoose
60 Tiger Tools W.I.P 2.png
The major changes aside from the renaming at this point are taillights modified from a 2000 Ford Ranger, and headlights modified from a 2004 Impala. I also closed up the grill, getting rid of the cross-bar that is signature of Dodge and making it one big opening. Finally I changed the Goodyear logo to say Lead Foot instead, which will be the tire brand used amongst the field.

Here are 2 more cars I cooked up today alongside this project

1 Bison Mowers W.I.P.png
Not the most complicated of my designs, but does the trick good enough. I love my corny slogans, and when I came up with this idea, I had to roll with it. The original plan was for a red/white/blue car, but ultimately I went with greyscale and red. Sponsor wise, I figured since Bison graze on grass, and are an icon of the American Plains, it made a perfect fit for a "true red white and blue, built in the U.S.A" lawn mower brand, aggressive macho man marketing and all.

75 TPG Racing Engines W.I.P.png
Anyone who has been following my showroom for a while will be familiar with this machine. I've gone through many iterations of the TPG brand over the years, and this is the latest incarnation, once again with it's now signature dual blue and white colorway. The number is similar to what I have gone with in the past, but the logos are all new, dropping the transmission portion from the branding.

Back on the NR2003 wagon, I've decided to take a break from Cup2000 and work on Cup90. Why this mod in particular? The rear windows on the model are solid, allowing for me to better shape them for accuracy via decals.

Toyota Celica.png
The first entry in this line of templates is a Toyta Celica, based on the Goody's Dash car. This originally started from NeoDart28's template on Racing Reference, but in the end only the manufacture decals and headlights remain, as I modified the rest of the car for better accuracy. Of course there is only so much I can do on a boxy model, but every alt-template for NR2003 has it's compromises.

Nice. I always wished we had a proper dash mod.

I started on Dash templates for the Pinty's mod and while it isn't perfect for the Dash series either, I thought it was a good basis. Here is a screenshot:

Today I've been slowly re-working the S&G Cup2000 templates.

2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
00-02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.png

Starting off with the Chevy, this had the most modifications of any template, with me totally redoing the rear shading and the upper nose, from a 2002 original Cup Monte Carlo, as well as angling the headlights further down. Final touches were the shading around the bottom of the cockpit to make them align better.

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
96-02 Pontiac Grand Prix.png

This has far less in the modifications department, as most of the work was done at the rear, simplifying the bumper shading, redoing the liscence plate holder shading taken from the Cup98 Grand Prix template, and the rear tail light shading, taken from the same cup98 template. I also adjusted the template to use the taller valence tape option, as well as modified the lower grill to fit the smaller frontal area, and did the same greenhouse shading as on the Monte.

2000 Ford Taurus
00-02 Ford Taurus.png
The Taurus shading has also been reworked, with the nose losing the lip under the headlights and grill, simplifying the rear shading, and the usual greenhouse adjustments. I shortened the grills horizontally which went a long way to reshaping the appearance of the nose, and did some work on the hood lines, as the template warping meant that I had to "zig-zag" them in order for it to look straight on the model, and flattened the frontal edge of the hood lines to make it seem less exaggerated and more accurate.

2001 Dodge Intrepid
98-02 Dodge Intrepid.png

The changes on this are mostly small but noticeable. First, the rear shading rework customary of these cars. I "lowered" the nose by moving the grill, headlights, and shading downwards, and added a more accurate upper grill piece. The lower grills, grill blackout and foglights are seperated from the single layer that they were a part of, and that concludes the major changes.

2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
98-02 Oldsmobile Intrigue.png

Intriguing isn't it. This is a typical Pontiac rework with custom shading and decals, plus the large grill from the original template.

I hope you'll be offering these for download
The Dodge, Chevy, Ford, and Pontiac are mashups from various different templates, and as such I'm not sure if publicly releasing them will ruffle feathers in the community. I can send them in PM if people ask though.

The Oldsmobile I definitely might, but I often hesitate to release my templates since I use GIMP, which has a nasty habit of flattening layer groups when saved a a .psd, so you'd have to deal with an .xcf file.
