I was messing around with the 2007, and 2006 carsets for NR2003. I saw that the manufacturers for the chevys, and fords were inconsistent with the make. This erked me and i was wondering if anybody had the answer to my question!

No.
It depends on what you mean by "cars manufacturer"

There are four slots for body shapes; which had default names, which really bear no resemblance to what spits out the other end. You can change the skin of any thing that fits over that body shape to practically anything you want.

index.php

Datsun, Ford, Toyota, Mazda, Jaguar, Ford (Again), Mustang, Chevrolet, Gaz, Ford, Honda, Ferrari, Mercedes, Holden.

11 manufacturers.... only one body though. The game itself is quite ecumenical.

sorry i was being vague, I mean a pre existing car file. Like a ford on a dodge. and if i could change it to a ford after it has been created.

I mean you could export the image, then create a new car file and reimport the image, but in most cases it's going to look pretty gumby.
If you've kept the assets used to create the .tga, then you're better off starting again.

The disparity between makes vs the bodies used is mainly due to the body/template combo used and what people thought was the most accurate.

Each manufacture has a unique body/window shape, and as such, depending on the year, car and template, different makes profiles are more desirable.

For Example, the 2005-2006 Charger looks better on a Pontiac Body, which is what the template was designed for, as the Dodge quarter windows looks odd (they moved back to the Dodge for 07 due to the rounded nose, though I modified the template to use the Ford instead).

Some Chevys use the Monte Carlo Body but others use the Grand Prix instead due to the smooth rear shape on the 06-07 Monte compared to it's 2003-2005 counterpart. Toyota also goes on Pontiac as the shape was the closest to the Camry.

Some 2006-2007 Fusions use Dodge, others use Ford, depending on the template used and what people thought was more accurate.

There's a set of stp's (or Mips) out there somewhere where it will make all the manufacturers logos not be displayed. I can't remember where I saw it, maybe someone else will know. That would probably be a better choice for you. That way you don't have to mess with trying to change over car paints from what they are on to the logo brand.

Its not the logo im trying to change, its the body itself. Thank you for the advice

Most 1970s "bar slot" style grills across various manufacturers, work on the Dodge for the 2019 MENCS mod.

My wish for mod makers is that they give us a default flat face to work with because putting cut outs when you want to retroactively add extra marques, is a horrid thing to work with.

Let see if I have this correct, you want mod makers to do a blank front end on their cars to help 3rd party templates to fit and look better, well, don't think that will happen, there's a couple mods that have one generic car in them, that's probably the extent of that being done.

In a word... Yes.

That's one of the reasons why the ICR mod is so brilliant. Mystical thought long and hard during the process and gave us a thing which is accepting of so very many front and rear light clusters and grill sets.

And yes, to Martinrace's sage advice. I am going to have to learn some new skills. This doesn't seem insurmountable but it might take time.

I can't believe you would say that publicly, your opinion on the ICR mod would have been best kept to yourself. We believe Mystical's work is above the cutting edge, and he made what he wanted to see, not what the masses wanted to see.
